[Albion] Pascal Groß the raumdeuter - officially leaves for Dortmund :(

I actually think retiring Groß's shirt number would work, because 13 isn't typically a popular number. Isn't it generally a reserve goalkeeper or don't a lot of clubs just not have one because of the 'superstitious' or 'bad luck' thing?

[Albion] Pascal Groß the raumdeuter - officially leaves for Dortmund :(

I could separate the two. It could be a difficult decision about leaving (and going back home) Brighton and the PL, but easy to decide on Dortmund (weren't there a few clubs sniffing around?) when they registered their interest. I refuse to believe anything other than Pascal is a thoroughly...

[Albion] Pascal Groß the raumdeuter - officially leaves for Dortmund :(

I'm happy it happened and absolutely DELIGHTED for him, to be honest (I'm well over being sad he's gone). Playing CL football for the team you supported as a kid - at 33? It's the stuff of dreams. I can't think of an Albion player who deserves that more!

Give it a few years and we will hopefully be adding Jack H - the possible successor to the Groß crown - to the 'local legends'...

[Albion] Pascal Groß the raumdeuter - officially leaves for Dortmund :(

He's my favourite ever Albion player, but I'm totally fine with this news. I said my goodbyes to him at my last home game of the season because it was pretty much nailed on this would be happening (after it didn't happen at the end of the previous season). He owes us nothing - he's been THE...

Two players who were playing in their home country. There's a big difference, as PG has alluded to.

[Albion] Pascal Groß the raumdeuter - officially leaves for Dortmund :(

A year of having a player around who might not really want to be here? Yeah, great move! I figured he'd go this summer - and good luck to him, if it plays out that way. Gutted, because he's my favourite-ever Albion player, but he's more than earned the right to do what he wants. IMO, like.

Who knows? He's made noises about wanting to go back to Germany at some point and if this move helps him, then we'll have to live with it. I've already prepared myself for having seen him play his last match for Brighton, so anything else will be a bonus.

I'm assuming it IS good for PG, or else he wouldn't have SINGED on with a new agency!

I'll be at the game next Friday night to - hopefully - see Groß vs Gilmour

Yeah, because holding a player against their will (if that even is the case) ALWAYS works out well...

[Albion] Pascal Groß the raumdeuter - officially leaves for Dortmund :(

I've no issue with it, to be honest. He's probably spoken to the players and found out their plans. If that player wants to go, then an exit as smooth as possible must always be the goal, no. I actually admire RDZ's honesty when he speaks. So unusual in any walk of life, especially football...

[Albion] Pascal Groß the raumdeuter - officially leaves for Dortmund :(

I reckon he's off (or he wants to go) – and the gaffer knows it. "De Zerbi said Pascal Gross, who won two club awards this week, has become "a great, great player and a top player for us" and that "he can play in every big team because he is smart, he is a very good player and his passion and...

This. It was almost the perfect combinations of players for the goal involvement, for me. Chuck in the Groß fake, followed by the Groß turn and it gets even better!
