Would be possible, but not desirable. IMHO it's the number one reason why NSC is so popular - it's draws people to threads they would otherwise be completely unaware of, so making them stay on longer.
Despite the admissions of tardy maintenance, the only thing that concerns me is this...
Two conflicting opinions here, neither of which have been disputed. This isn't what I expect of NSC! Unfortunately it's a .gif and not a clip, so does that mean it can't be slowed down?
We could easily beat them!
Excellent, Driver8!
I was incredulous when I heard this news item today.
Have we paid for surveillance 24/7 all these years on the off chance he might sneak out?
I don't mind it going off-topic because it's getting more interesting. You question whether Germany could have successfully invaded us across just 21 miles with total command of the air, yet the American/British Empire forces achieved it with neither of these huge advantages. As for food...
Mate - you can't do a '60 years ago last month' thread! I had my '40 years ago today, charter train to Sunderland' thread all ready for 1st October last year but forgot about it! Now I have to wait for the 50th anniversary to do it (if still alive), because I didn't go to Sunderland in 78-79 :)...
That has been my understanding too, and I usually cringe when I hear or read about Tim Berners-Lee being the inventor. He did invent the time - saving hyperlink though, I think in callaboration with BT. Didn't Britain have more to do with the WWW, i.e. the actual network of connected computers...
On a current thread I was surprised to read this:
Welcome as it undoubtedly was to the majority of the population, I can think of several other things. I'll start in the pre-world war era and propose that the greatest achievement was the maintenance of the British Empire, which ruled a quarter...
Can't you wurzles get your own thread? :)
Porthcawl has got to be the tackiest seaside resort I've ever visited! I did however like the swimming pool cut into the rock on the beach. No chlorine needed, it got cleaned every time the tide came in!
For our younger fans who don't realise, that's not a lapel badge given out to reward regulars! It's actually a shield, of maybe a metre in diameter. It was affixed to the front of the diesel, but I'm not sure what happened in North London when the locomotive was switched to an electric for those...
The excursion on 1st October 1977 was £5. This was also the price for Blackburn, Burnley, Blackpool and (I think) Sheffield United and my memory is that the club used profits from these trips to subsidise the long one.
An excellent post, and sums up just how out of step the British drinking...
I went to that match too but from Bath, and hadn't even heard of him!
To those who don't know to whom we refer, after 50 seconds he shot, he scored.....
I expect this will be pursued if the match gets switched to an evening kick off. In fact, I'd
have thought a full plane would be competitive even after allowing for the costs of getting to Gatwick and from Ringway to Old Trafford.
