Of all the things wrong about that bike is it weird that what annoys me the most is the fact they left the down-tube shifter on? At least the rest of it is either aesthetic (and each to their own mostly, although celeste bar tape will ALWAYS be wrong!) or practical. Oh no - I've just noticed it...

So Bouhanni's annoyed because he started his sprint too late and ran out of road, but is blaming JD for coming 6" off his line 10m before the line when Bouhanni was still a length behind. Nacer - it isn't anyone else's fault you aren't fast enough, but it's certainly a sprinter's prerogative to...

Hey! It's not my fault you can't spot talent when it's right in front of you! I did that "biathlon" (as it was then) swim-run in Ringmer, so there were signs of multi-sport ability (or at least desire) from a young age. I could've been a contender; granted, in a sport nobody else had heard of...

My major regret in life is now giving up swimming when I was about 10, and not finding triathlon until I was mid-20s. If I'd had pushier parents I could've been actually good! C'est la vie...

It's the sport of mediocrity - if you're actually good in the water, or on the bike or running then that's your sport and you compete and win stuff. If you're quite good, but not competitive at any of the components then you do triathlon. The kit can be a ball ache, but the more you do the less...

Swimming sucks. Other than that triathlon's great! With a 400m/20k/5k race I'd be out of the water in 8 minutes, 36 mins on the bike and aiming at sub-20 on the run (bearing in mind I used to do things like training...) Practice your transitions - get your kit set in the right order and...

Cadence is one of the many reasons to ride fixed. You HAVE to spin up to 130+ on occasion. If you can then transfer this to the road bike a higher cadence becomes natural.

I've been wondering if Lizzie Armitstead has actually seen Marianne Vos from the front since Saturday's GP. Great race, and a top finish from Bronzini, although the highlight will always be seeing the Rainbow Jersey speed past from within touching distance. :)

Pinot will be worth watching today - surely others will attack him on the descent. What's the weather like...?

I'm going to have to disagree with you - I'm absolutely gutted for Bauer. It felt almost worse than Tony Martin's Vuelta last year. I doubt red numbers will ease the pain somehow. :(

It's a GC day, certainly. Valverde might fancy a crack, but Rodriguez is more likely to be given the space. I doubt Porte has the team or the final kick to get over the line first, especially with Astana watching...

They're nice bikes. Mine is the old (2008) version that came with full ultegra for the same price! No horrible bar tape either. :-)

I'm not sure whether to feel sorry for Peter Sagan or not after today. He's had the Green jersey competition sewn up since stage 3, and yet can't catch a break with a stage win. However, he knows people won't work to take him to the finish only for him to take the sprint, so why not go with...

It's a rest day - the traditional moment for doping stories to come out, and for finger pointing to begin! So, who's on the sauce this year? Personally I think G has to be on something - probably whiskey based on his inability to stay upright. Nothing overly suspicious so far I don't think...

Probably only another 3, if you get the right ones... Broken tibia and back on the bike. Hardcore. I'm gutted Contador's out. I don't like him, or want him to win, but he climbs beautifully and the Tour was panning out nicely for a high mountains duel. Now it's a bit less exciting, but other...

    Stop Cycling up Ditchling Beacon!!!!

I'd probably say 'did'. I was there at the Goldstone, Gillingham and Withdean (season ticket holder for 2 years as a student living in London). Regular visits became unaffordable. When we moved to Falmer I felt that the club was there indefinitely, which allowed me to distance myself emotionally...

    Stop Cycling up Ditchling Beacon!!!!

I have done in the past. Not been for a while due to work commitments. There are people who post on NSC who don't support the Albion and never have.

Henri Desgrange (the inventor of the Tour de France) originally said it would be a success if only 1 rider finished the race leaving everyone else unable to complete it.
