Happy Christmas all. I got an Albion cycling jersey, lovely stuff. But I’m usually an XL, and this one is 2XL and it’s still a bit tight. Better cut back on the Quality Street.
I too pay off my Amex every month - it’s got a massive APR and is useful only for racking up Avios, discounts at the Amex stadium, and biffing things I want to buy into the following month’s paycheque.
No idea how American Express make all that much money charging interest, if most customers...
Tonight on BBC Four (and then on the iPlayer after that) genuine HD rescans of
19:00 Last of the Summer Wine, "Getting Sam Home"
21:30 One Foot in the Algarve (the greatest sitcom Christmas special of all time)
Although you’re cutting it dangerously fine with Hamburg or Freiburg. You could get an onward flight from BXL to any number of places I suppose. This is all a bit Simon Calder, sorry.
I reckon if you buy an early morning Eurostar to Lille or Brussels for the morning of March 7, there is a 7/16 chance of being able to get a connection to the match, wherever it is. Possibly 8/16 if it’s possible to get to the Wankdorf in a day from Lille.
Lots to say about the game and the atmosphere and a bewilderingly wonderful night, but first: sorry to the bloke behind me who I encouraged to cash out his acca for 40 quid. When Brighton won it was worth £180.
The thing is, if you're heading for Lancing for (at the latest) an 11am arrival, and you take (just say) the M3 instead of the M23, you'd have to be a long way down the M3 before realising that it's impossible to double back, or hang a left onto the A272, and still make it.
That’s the entire story really. Marvellous scenes.

Presuming you support the idea of 18 counties -- no. The new-ish chair of the ECB, Richard Thompson, is a big supporter of this setup rather than regionalisation. Jon Filby the Sussex chairman is too. So I assume that Rob Andrew -- for all his other faults -- agrees with both of them.
I don't want Sussex to leave Hove. There would only be any point if the club wanted to host men's internationals. There's too much competition for that already. It's a lovely place to which people like coming. There are some medium term plans to increase capacity with new stands and hospitality...
