Doesn't mean they could play it - just their tactics/training etc was to play in the Premiership......playing in the Premiership is totally different to the Championship, else we wouldn't be struggling this season with roughly the same squad that won the league last year
I'm not saying we are guaranteed to go straight back up - and i don't believe we will. But like when Coppell left, we know what it takes to build again to be back in the Premiership within 5 years. Since we were relegated last time, we never struggled and were always a top half Championship...
Difference being we (Reading) actually know what is involved in the Championship and what is required to get out of it (we've done it twice and reached the play-offs four times) - Wolves/Blackburn/Bolton were too suited to Premiership football
When the fans boo after losing to Wigan and Villa in must win games - combined with us constantly questioning his tactics/signing/starting XI - then some will say that Anton has done us a favour IF we get the right man to replace McD
As i said a couple of pages back, Madejski is still our...
The money was there but for some reason McD didn't spend it. Think we had around £10m to spend and used hardly any of it. It was exactly the same when Coppell was in charge for our 2nd season in the Premiership - he was far too loyal to the players that did a great job the previous season. Take...
Just so you know, about 95% of us know we will be playing in the Championship next season (and tbh i think the board know it too) - what we are looking for is someone to re-shape us and take us back up, the money will be there and a majority of the players will stay.
The major concern us...
Why? - what have we done wrong?.......its just paper-talk, something to fill the column inches and for SSN for jizz over for 17 hours a day
Until something official is released, hold off with the Reading-bashing :ascarf:
“@diegopoyet7: Whatever even happens with my Dad, I will always support Brighton” #readingfc
Also, out of interest why do you lot hate us so much or are you like this with all clubs?
I guess that's a little unfair but I meant it as a compliment - as in he's made you a stable Championship side and not one that came up and struggled to hold their own.
Like Poyet as a man and manager just don't see it as a step up to what we already had.
Not being funny or anything but the majority of us Reading fans are quite underwhelmed by the news that Poyet is in the running
Why sack a manager who got us to 2 FA Cup Q/Fs, a play off final and win us the Championship and replace him with a bloke who's won League One and turned a team into...
