I’d like to agree with you but if a player says no to you at the stage he has then I think that’s that.
I think it’s possible the deal with Chelsea could go tits up and that he stays at Leicester, but most likely that Chelsea get it over the line somehow as they now have to to keep face. ( they...
I think we paid €6/7m for Deniz and so €20m represents a very nice profit, especially for a player who doesn’t want to be here.
As others have said, we can then put that money towards other players. Deniz also plays in a position where we have strength in depth.
Hope he does well there.
I’ve seen it quoted that Wieffer wants the move to Brighton. I expect Bart saying good things about us may have helped.
He plays in a position that we need strengthening.
I expect that after 30th June we will see some movement. ( fingers crossed)
I don’t think Leicester are in a position to say no to a swap deal but it may not be easy to convince a London based player to go there on potentially a lesser contract.
My hope is that the deal collapses just before the deadline.
Not for him to come here as I don’t want him but just for the lols.
How angry would you be if you were a director at Leicester, if Chelsea now don’t complete the deal before the deadline.
Basically Chelsea entering the fray and then rejecting the deal would have scuppered the only chance of Leicester meeting the PSR threshold.
Points deduction incoming, and...
He’s a midfielder. More of an Mwepu replacement 18 months on.
Adingra will replace Mitoma next season on the left and Minteh will make the RW position his own. Succession planning innit?
He’s pacy with a great left foot and playsinverted right winger which is what we need.
Newcastle need to sell before Sunday and we have a reputation in developing younger players.
He’d be sensible in coming here rather than Everton. Would like if the price is right.
Thing is Leicester probably need to sell him for £40m to avoid failing PSR rules.
That’s fine say if we value Moder at £20m and Moder would probably go.
For Chelsea, as their fringe players are paid so much it’s harder to do a swap, so Chelsea would have to stump up the full £40m. Sure they can...
I’m surprised we went to the effort of making a bid when he obviously didn’t want to come.
Whereas, Wieffer and Gomez both do, reportedly. So now let’s get both of them in, pinch Minteh off Newcastle, buy the Brazilian Wesley and we are all ok.
‘He only wants Chelsea’ bollocks. So if Real Madrid make an offer he says’ No, you are ok, it’s my dream to play for Chelsea’.
We’ll have other targets.
Unfortunately I think the Moder exchange makes sense. He’s entering the last year of his contract and if he’s not prepared to extend then we need to move him on.
He’ll get regular game time with Leicester and from a PSR perspective Leicester get full value for KDH and can amoritise the transfer...
Even Fabrizio ( the Chelsea fan) is asking ‘why?’. They are targeting a striker and winger so why make a late move for a midfielder to compete with their six other midfielders, especially as Gallagher has no plans to move on.
With Maresca being his ex manager then KDH was only going to Chelsea if indeed they do bid for him. They may not as they may have other priorities.
I think we’ve moved on with us looking and allegedly making bids for Wieffer and Gomez.
Chelsea really are muppets though in going for anyone...
From what I see, it looks like reports are stating that ourselves and Brentford are interested with Leicester wanting £40m.
Yet we have allegedly made initial bids for Gómez at circa £8m and Wieffer who may cost £25/30m.
There’s a deadline approaching now of 30th June and so if Leicester don’t...
