Ironically, the one managerial appointment where we’ll likely see a bit of longevity even with success will be Potter. Can’t see he’ll take it a 2nd time and it not be for a longer haul. Not that I’m endorsing the appointment, but I dare say all the others would be off at the drop of a hat.

    [Albion] North/South divide

You have to go back to 2021 for a major trophy to have not gone North. 2020 the last time one was in the South. Of the domestic trophies last 5 years; North 13 South 2

[Albion] De Zerbi was NOT “sacked”

Finding it hard to credit a manager who we have helped thrust into the limelight from being relatively unknown, to 20 months later stopping the game by taking his ball home.

[Football] Football without heading the ball

Completely agree. At these age groups you’re talking 5v5, 7v7, then first season of 9v9. On the smaller 5v5, 7v7 pitches they rarely need to head it anyway, and to be fair most are reluctant to do so. Much better they learn to be footballers, heading can come much later.

Doesn’t matter, most managers with career aspirations will want to go to a ManUtd whether it’s stated or not. If he comes to us only thing that gets him that job is being successful - and that would be fine by me. Flip side is, you get a relative unknown who turns up, turbo charges your team...

[News] Should we Bring Back National Service? Sunak says YES.

You can’t take something like this in isolation. If your point is ‘a kick up the arse for some little scumbags’ then you have to get in there BEFORE they are 18. We’ve had over a decade of real cuts to school budgets, what they can offer outside of school day hours, youth services, provision...

    [Other Sport] F1 2024

How do you make the most boring race on the F1 calendar more boring? Red flag on the first lap, no need for any pit stops. It’s just an exhibition for rich twats this, there is no sport involved.

At first I thought this was satirical.

    [Football] Cup Final Day!

My concern for England is that Maguire is shite, and United today have highlighted why. With a solid two prepared to challenge, step up, get tight, it’s transformed United, meant the midfield have less to do. Southgate won’t budge on Maguire though.

Take Maguire out and have too fast on it defenders and you can look a different side.

Agree, other than the 3 coming up, everyone else has a min 2 full seasons in the top flight. Think Forest really are the only weak link, everyone else had very good periods and look to have decent squads and managers.

It’s almost like blaming a manager for a bad run of results, then when there’s a good run it’s only because of the players they’ve got.

I don't think it's that simple. Verbruggen and Trafford are the two youngest keepers in the league by some margin. There aren't many PL keepers get a look in before their mid-20s. If we analysed the on-going development of Bart, rotating this season may prove a master stroke in his development...

Well he did in reality, 19/20 we never dropped below 16th. Even finishing 17th in 20/21, we were 13 points above the drop zone, never really in any danger. We also only lost 15 games that season which was up there with the top half teams. The progress was clear and probably more so behind the...
