    [Football] The Gay Footballer

The OP is talking about a male coming out. There seems to be a clear difference between the willingness of men and women to come out. Is this purely down to the profile of the sport or is there a bigger reason behind it?

    [Football] The Gay Footballer

I don't think it has. How many openly gay rugby players are there currently playing? There's no openly gay cricketers either. Football is far from the only sport that doesn't have any openly gay participants. Jamie O'Hara was talking on Talksport on Friday and said that he played with two gay...

[Albion] The Albion 2019-20 pre-season friendly thread (first team, U-23s and U-18s)

That'll teach me for not paying more attention when searching the club website :dunce:

[Albion] The Albion 2019-20 pre-season friendly thread (first team, U-23s and U-18s)

The game against Sporting Lisbon - is that on Friday 2nd August or Saturday 3rd? The official website has it down as Friday 3rd and everywhere else has copied that mistake!

[Politics] Our next Prime minister.........Labour scenario

Andy Burnham might step down as Mayor of Manchester to run for PM, if that's possible? I don't know what the contract status is for Mayor etc.

[Albion] First Game Of The Season Opponents?

There was a leaked memo allegedly from the PL suggesting we're the 4PM kick off on Sunday 11th away to Utd, and on Sky. We'll soon find out if that was true.

[Other Sport] Israel Folau - Christian Martyr

Of which Falau has two sleeves done, highlighting his potential hypocrisy. On matters of sexuality Falau takes a very strict interpretation. Re tattoos, not so much. That may well be due to his pacific island heritage though. Tattoos are very much a cultural thing. My own personal view? Cant...

But he's also one of the few trying to run with the ball and make something happen!

    [Palace] Oh dear Wayne Hennessey...

I don't think Prince Harry intended it to be a homage to The Fuhrer when he dressed up as an SS Officer but there are some things you simply do not do. I've never tried to get someones attention to with my arm raised in similar fashion!

[Football] Crawley Town FC ............. Concerned?

Massive game away at Yeovil tomorrow. If they lose that, it really concertinas up the last 5 places or so.

    [News] Princess Royal Hospital

Most cars there have 2 officers in or you're assuming most have 2 officers? Rarely see many double crewed cars anymore these days.

[Albion] Should we just kick them?

Completely agree. It's frustrating to hear Hughton coming out saying that we'd be foolish to try and out-football City. We all know that but Swansea were minutes away from knocking City out. We need to be aggressive and on the front foot. Get amongst City and try and upset their rhythm. If we...

[Albion] Chelsea - Whats it like getting away from Stamford Bridge

Whenever I've been to Stamford Bridge I've always gone via West Brompton. Plenty of trains to and from Clapham. Nice walk through the Cemetery.

[Football] Paul Scholes - that went well then

Biggest load of nonsense ever! Scholes retired from England because he was ****ed off with being played on the left wing for the majority of his caps while successive managers tried and failed to make the Gerrard Lampard partnership work. Whatever you think of Scholes he absolutely isn't a...

    [Albion] Ultras upset ...yet again

To be fair, I can understand where they're coming from. If you compare that to Pizzagate perhaps, the Arsenal v Man U game that had Viera and Keane squaring up, our game looks like a testimonial. Had we lost, I suspect some of our fans might have shared the video making the same point.

    [Albion] Police in Croydon yesterday

You may find it sick but it is taught as a standard technique for restraint amongst police and security. His whole weight isn't on the fellas neck. It looks bad I agree but there are times when it's necessary. From what I've seen on the video, this wasn't one of them.

    [Albion] Adam Johnson

Agree with pretty much all you say apart from the last sentence. The core duties of being a footballer don't include contact with children. Bennell was a youth coach so there is a clear issue. Johnson could quite easily be kept away from Christmas hospital visits etc to comply with any rules...

[Football] The cost of promotion: Wolves had losses of £1,200,000 a week last season

Most of their player purchases were foreign players so the transfer fee goes out the country. The wages go out the country if the player is foreign. The agents fees go to Jorge Mendes. What actual investment have Wolves actually made?

[Football] Who is the WORST football pundit out there currently?

Not quite sure how much of Danny Murphy you've watched or listened too. One of the most insightful pundits around at the moment. I can barely recall anything he's said that hasn't been either new to me, or at least of interest.
