I don’t think there are enough words to describe the impact that he has had for the club. The list of crucial goals and assists is off the chart.
I’m genuinely sad he’s gone, which as a grown man has caught me a bit by surprise!
But… better to leave with us all thinking him a legend and...
Given how ludicrously well stocked we are in attacking positions I do find it a bit odd we seem light at centre half especially if we play three at the back.
JPVH - excellent young first choice.
Dunk - first choice but aging
Webster - questionable fitness and quality
Igor - I like but he’s not...
Need to get the squad trimmed!
Sima is not good enough for where we want to be, I saw plenty of him last season to think he’s one we could sell.
I think we may sell Sarmiento as well, simply too many wide options for him to get much if any game time.
I think we may sell Moran, just a hunch...
If you think the number of players not available for today (which is nearly another whole starting 11) our squad is seriously impressive.
Verbruggen
Webster
Dunk
Igor
Estupinan
Gross
Gilmour
Wieffer
March
Ferguson
Ensico
Undav
Absolutely bonkers! It does make you think some of the sales...
Accordingly to Fantasy Football injury forecasting he won’t be back until early October. They don’t usually put dates unless they have been given insider info.
Who they come against is an absolutely nonsense argument. It’s not like he handpicks the opponents to play. The draw is the draw and he scores or he doesn’t.
When it comes to his goal scoring at major tournaments the stats don’t lie, he’s the best we have ever had and the penalty claim is a myth.
As to his overall quality that’s subjective.
Just shows what statistics can do.
Hes scored 9 knockout stage tournament goals that’s more than Rooney, Shearer and Owen combined. Of these only three were penalties. He’s scored in two semi finals, he’s also scored three goals in four quarter final appearances.
Rooney 1 KO goal (1 pen)...
Facts are he’s just won (along with five others it must be said) the golden boot for the tournament. The reality is he wasn’t fit and nowhere near his best.
Kane is not the problem, he’s one the best centre forwards in the world. Last season he was top scorer in the Champions League and...
@Theatre of Trees thanks so much for organising. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was kept hooked right to the last minute of the game tonight.
@mejonaNO12 aka riskit well played, I will be rooting for you to win from here on in.
It absolute does. I like watching good football with Brighton. But with England I am 43 years old and never seen us win anything. If this is the way we need to win a tournament I will take it. Also, not seen any cheating from England, a bit of luck for sure but not cheating.
Three if you count the nations league third place playoff.
He had a win percentage in penalties of 75% (won three lost one)
Prior to him taking over we had won one in six. (A win rate of 17%)
His approach to planning and preparation for penalties deserves credit.
This squad doesn’t lay a glove on the one we had 2002-2006 and they never made it past a quarter final.
Yes we aren’t playing great but we are winning matches which is what tournament football is all about.
This notion we should be winning and playing is scintillating football is arrogance...
So turns out the majority of Scottish people share my view of the SNP and their abysmal performance and they have been exposed for the shambles they are. Absolutely devastating result for them but at least that’s independence off the table for the foreseeable.
I just can’t see us arranging a preseason tour of Japan and then selling Mitoma. I don’t think Bloom and Barber are the vindictive type but that KDH signing seems to have really irritated them, I really think they would be loathe to deal with Chelsea for Mitoma and if they do the fee will be...
Pleased with this if confirmed. Surely now our wide players and number ten position is sorted. Given we have at least three centre forwards any additional signings will hopefully be midfield and right back.
