[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

Save Our Town Burgess Hill (REMG) I have no idea what the REMG bit stands for.

[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

There is a particularly lunatic FB group in Burgess Hill which was originally set up to save a mini roundabout (I kid you not) but which has morphed into a generally right wing / pro conspiracy cess pit in which local councillors are threatened (two have had to resign and the police are...

[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

The Tories no longer control any Borough or District Council anywhere in Sussex. That is a massive shift in political choice across the County.

[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

Labour and Lib Dem’s neck and neck with the Tories in the new Mid Sussex constituency according to some polls. Certainly won’t be a walkover for the Tories but a good chance the anti Tory vote will split the opposition and allow the shocking Kristy Adams in.

[Travel] Recommendations for Florence and Pisa

Pisa is a lovely little city. We were there 5 years ago at this time before heading to Florence on the train. Take a walk around the city walls in Pisa for great views of the tower. In Florence we loved the central food market, great lunch spot.

    [Politics] Are you voting today?

PCC and town council by election here. I'm expecting the Tory candidate to win the town council election given how well the local Tories have whipped up feeling about an increase in car park charges imposed by the Lib Dem District Council.

[Sussex] What’s it like near here?

Cants Lane area is generally fine, a couple of spots you might want to avoid close by.

[Albion] Record season ticket renewals (again)

Just bought a ST after having one for 10 years then having to sit out the last couple of years. I'm W3G/I/172 - anyone here close by?

[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

And a Tory councillor in Haywards Heath is an admin of all 36 groups. No wonder they are losing control of Mid Sussex.

[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

Presumably he can point to evidence of a corresponding decrease in asylum seekers arriving in the UK - or alternatively he is talking nonsense as usual.

[Politics] If there were a General Election tomorrow poll

I would drop my part time community bus service driving job instantly if this were to happen. Very counter productive as these sorts of jobs won't appeal to younger people.

[Politics] If there were a General Election tomorrow poll

I am working at the PCC count next month - if I spot any throbbing members I shall know who did it!

[Politics] If there were a General Election tomorrow poll

Hadn’t spotted that. Extraordinary! The electorate of Hertfordshire should be encouraged to visit Burgess Hill town centre to see the Ash Edwards legacy.

[Politics] If there were a General Election tomorrow poll

If you mean a Mims Davies, she is off to the new EG and Uckfield constituency. She saw the writing on the wall after the local elections last year. Kristy Adams is the Tories less than convincing replacement candidate. As I mentioned earlier, the polls in Mid Sussex suggest (remarkably) a three...

[Politics] If there were a General Election tomorrow poll

Perfectly relaxed about seeing Labour in power again, a spell of competent, focused leadership will stand in marked contrast to the total shambles we have now. But, here in Mid Sussex it’s a tough call as to who to vote for in order to ensure the dreadful Kristy Adams doesn’t win the seat for...

[Misc] Lasting Power of Attorney help

We have done ourselves for parents and each other. Relatively straightforward and clear guidance.

[Brighton] Best fishmongers in the Brighton area?

Another vote for Fish - the staff are really helpful and knowledgeable as well. Plus they have an online shop if you can't get to Hove.

[Politics] Tory meltdown finally arrived [was: incoming]...

Just when you think they have sunk to the lowest they can go, they find another level. I cannot imagine any other organisation where admitting to sharing the personal details of colleagues to a sexually motivated, presumably anonymous, contact would not result in immediate dismissal.

[Brighton] Ikea buy Churchill Square and will open City store in old Debenhams

I recently participated in some market research for IKEA ahead of their Brighton opening. They wanted to talk with local men about their storage needs - and that’s how rock and roll I am.
