It was a morality tale for kids. D&M had the best car but got up to all kinds of cheating so something would go wrong - usually near the finishing line - meaning they never won.
Penelope Pitstop for me everytime!
Think he's the best current English ref. Quite low key and few major balls-ups. VAR helps too, otherwise Oliver would have disallowed Glenn Murray's equaliser at Wet Sham last year.
Alan Mullery for me. Four consecutive seasons of success, even though we should never have come near to relegation in the last one. Excepting the 1990s it's always been a good job to take on, with bigger expectations than ever now.
Juan-Carlos Oblitas a Peruvian international (I think) trained with us in early 1979. Together with a compatriot Percy Rojas. Nothing came of it...very exotic at that time.
Yes he does but the Conservative Party membership love charlatan Johnson and were always going to chose him. Hunt's reward for challenging him was to be frozen out.
Maybe a recall due now. It's coming to something when he's billed as the returning hero though.
.
Was the handover to Broon anything to do with Iraq? Thought it was all part of the agreement when John Smith died...Granita and so on.
Happy to be corrected.
Still better than Johnson who is the lowest of the low.
He lies, then he lies again and after that he lies some more. When he stops lying, after a short while he starts lying again.
Well yes, I was born when Sir Anthony Eden was PM so can add him to that list.
Some serious players in your roll call of Prime Ministers How far we have fallen under the current charlatan.
Talking of Brian Planet, I was sad when the 'score the winner in the 89th minute' team of 1972
broke up.
Planet, Murray (Bert), Spearritt, Templeman, Goodwin, Gall, Kit Napier, Beamish, Irvine, Bromley and Sully...whwere are they now?
Two clubs in the Leeds/ Bradford area i.e. Leeds and Bradford surely! You also don't mention the huge Rugby League interest in West Yorkshire.
LUFC do have a very large fanbase though...anyone would acknowledge that.
The foreign coach thing is an odd one. Lewis played for Oscar and, more pertinently, Gus after all. Mourinho's an admirer too apparently.
Agree with everything else in your post fwiw.
fwiw.
Mark Lawrenson was world-class imo. Vicente too, but he hardly played. The interesting one is who is second behind ML. I've always thought Steve Foster but not sure now as Lewis Dunk has got better year-on-year and last season was just superb.
Foster or Dunk, what do you think?
Well yes but it took 14 years to get there and a lot of fans passed during that time. I remember the tribute at the opening Anex game...it was very emotional.
As for Stanley, not gloating but it comes to us all; never forget, never forgive is how I see it
I don't think that's a rant, rather a measured post. Of course in any fans' forum, if a player loses form he's the worst in the world and vice versa.
Solanke could well be a target and a future player who does well
