[Albion] Onto the real stuff - What are you most excited about for the upcoming season?

Currently nothing…..I’ve been suckered into watching most of the Euros and think I need a football break….quite happy with Fabs appointment, but not really excited ..no doubt come the day it’ll change
I'm going to enjoy the Olympics first.

I think I certainly am. EVERYTHING excites me about next season.

A final word from me on this club v country thingy that I have constantly been slagged off for during the last few weeks by workmates, friends down the pub etc. At Basingstoke Saturday, when the ball fell to our young striker on the edge of the six yard box and slotted it home, I was up on my feet instantly with a massive YESSSSSS!! much to the displeasure of the surrounding locals, It just happened, I had no control over it. When England equalised I cheered and joined in to a degree but my celebration was laboured.
You can’t feel something that isn’t there.
I know exactly what you mean! Sitting in the stands at the AMEX and we score, it’s jumping out of the seat and punching the air.
last night - Palmer scored - oh how nice.

Looking forward to seeing everything.

Specifically:

1. A manager who is pulling in the same direction as the owner.
2. Tactics, the like of which we haven't seen before. Tactics which we can't work out, so rival teams may not be able to either.
3. A fast, fluid style, difficult to defend and set against.
4. An ability and ambition to improve our chance conversion rate. This has been hit and miss of late.
5. Defensively, becoming a really hard team to break down. Hard work to get back and defend when we need to.
6. Small, nippy wide players, pivoting from side to side, providing pace and quality balls in to Pedro.

- Ferguson healthy and hungry
- Mitoma delivering his Doctorate thesis to defenders again
- Wiefer fitting right in and bringing energy and aggressiveness
- ACD, Minteh and Osman adding much needed pace
- Hinchelwood, Buonanotte and Enciso and Barco maturing into top talents
- Solly fully fit
- 1 starting Keeper - Bart
- Set Piece Goals

A manager who wants to be here again, setting the team up to win games. Stopped enjoying travelling away towards the end of last season with Roberto apparently going through the motions week in week out.

Fabian, looks like a fun guy! Hope to see a more direct play, no fannying around at the front (annoys me more than at the back), think it will fit Ferguson. I hope Wieffer will be a rock in the middle. No loan deal for Minteh and Osman, please. A good ol cup run!

Your avatar seems apt.

My nephew is currently playing for a Brighton side at the Gothia Cup, and I'm hearing the weather is terrible - and that the pitches are all waterlogged!

'Brighton Boys' (Schools), I should clarify - rather than Brighton & Hove Albion.

@Han Solo - are you following this thing? The scale of it is quite something

Ah, good fun for him playing at Gothia Cup! It's the "biggest" cup in the world and Shearer, Pirlo, Adebayor and Xabi Alonso have all played there (doing a quick search...). I'm on the east coast right now, Gotland, and today it's been fine. Heavy rain the last couple of days though. Good luck to your nephew and hope the weather's getting better!

Edit: Here's some fun facts from the link below; 4771 games on 107 pitches last year, eight Bolivian players from one team that later represented Bolivia in the WC -94, 255 000 meatballs served etc

They are playing right now (against a Swedish side called Karra Klaraberg IF) but I'd imagine all the attention (and the gaze of half the world's scouts) is on Bromma v Right to Dream going on at the same time!

Question as per title.

Now the Euros are out of the way, we can switch attention back onto Fab and the boys with players back in training and preseason games round the corner.

What are you most excited about for the 24/25 season?

With Mitoma and Enciso back and with the additions of Osman and Minteh we should be RAPID in forward positions.

Wieffer looks class too, excited to see how he develops for us.

Excited (or nervously excited) to see how we set up. I’m genuinely intrigued as to whether we will yet again go against the received wisdom of the Premier League or fall flat on our faces.

Really looking forward to seeing Solly back and to seeing our new signings out wide.

I’m feeling 80% optimistic.
