I’d much rather we buy an actual right back than a left back who can play right back.

I think labelling him as any one position is doing him a disservice. He’s probably one of the most versatile players in the world.

A very good Gross replacement in fact.

I can’t believe the big boys aren’t all over this. He’s an incredible player.

We might have an issue whilst Barco is an Olympian and Estupinan is injured.

But yes, he’ll mainly be a right wing back for us.
Barco isn’t in the Argentina Olympic squad.

I’m for this signing based on nothing more than he bears a good resemblance to my sons cricket coach.

Brighton are one of the few sides in the PL with a proper war chest. We’ll be rightly linked with everyone. Colwill is definitely on our list.
How can Colwill be on our list? Surely his Chelsea wages will stop him returning till he's old enough to be an elder statesman signing.

Didn't realise he was born in Holland represented the Netherlands at U16, 17, 18, 19 and U21 until switching to Turkey.

Got one of the top European clubs written all over it imo. Could be media bollocks like the first post 2 years ago saying he'd signed already. Another £20-25m spend in this window?

We’ve got the flexibility in our accounts that we could offer Colwill a massive signing bonus to make up for the reduction in wages and bring him in with our wage structure.

We spent about £100m last summer, so far we’ve spent about £60m with no-one being sold yet.

If what was being reported earlier this year about Tony being ready to invest heavily to push us from a side competing for top 10 to a side competing for the European spots then we will be blowing last years spend out of the water.

Exactly. He made 32 appearances last season for the dickheads. Can't see him going, if he does, for less than £50m and £150k a week wages. Not our model.

Chelsea are not paying huge weekly salaries like they used to. They’re giving total contract deals tied to extended contract lengths (over and above what they can now amortise). Their model does not work at multiple hundreds of thousands a week for seven years. Colwill and many others in Todd’s 53 man roster strategy will get pissed off soon enough. They’ll start ‘making trades’ soon enough. This’ll become even more urgent if Maresca can’t get a tune out of them.

It's over £70m per my maffs: Minteh £30m, Wieffer £25.5m and Osman £16m. = £71.5m

I guess it's down to the rumours on how much 'heavy' investment Mr B is actually planning, more than the £200m odd in the last couple of years.

I would love to sign this lad, think he'll be a brilliant addition, especially with Der Kaiser's departure looking likely. I do think we need to add and the flexibility of this lad to play in numerous positions suits Hurzelball.

I’d forgotten about Osman, because of the out of window announcement I pushed him into the signings we made in January in my mind rather than remembering his transfer will be one to be included this summer.

Yes, but - sorry to sound like a Chelsea fan - that will be amortised over five years, so £14 m in this year's accounts - covered by the likely Undav sale.

Trying to think of any other player in world football who’s two most commonly played positions are full back and attacking midfield 🤔 I think it sounds great!

Only one who’s close I can think of is Zinchenko who plays LB for Arsenal and central midfield for Ukraine

This is more like it, 2.5 years of rumour, and possibility of a flight tracker.
