Brighton fans: spend some money!

<Brighton buy an exciting young player in a key position we only have one other player that has a serious injury>

Brighton fans: no, not like that
Was about to post similar.

Moan like buggery we don’t spend big bucks and when we do have a moan about how much a player cost and query whether we shouldn’t have spent it on a player in another position. :lolol:

It looked like we were after the winger (Summerfield) from dirty leeds going on media reports but he was maybe too expensive at £40mish and wanted too much pay each week so we went after Minteh who is younger (??) and costs less. We needed another winger by all accounts and Minteh seems a risk but we have to go with the club on this. Still dislike paying nu that kind of money to get them out of the shit though.

I really like the look of him, but my concern with every speed merchant is: are they one injury away from losing their most important characteristic?

Every time he goes down clutching a leg, I’ll be fearing that he comes back slightly less explosive than he was before.

Glad we’ve got him however, a bit of strength in depth is no bad thing, especially if we do make the European places again in the next two or three seasons.

I'm not moaning but he looks good to me.

Yeah. I’m not moaning either but I don’t think this is necessarily the position that needed filling the most. Sure we have plans to fill the RB and MF gaps.
I think this is the first of the ‘Summer 24 Big 5’ signings.

Still to come……

1 x CM
1 x DM
1 x RWB
1 x CB

I think the club will revel in showing RDZ what he could have won!

I agree those gaps need urgently addressing, but the signings don’t always fall in a convenient order. In this case Minteh is the Newcastle PSR makeweight. A Geordie mate told me exactly that on Tuesday. So we need to get it done today.

The other signings are presumably from clubs with less of a pressing PSR issue.

Barcodes also selling Elliot Anderson for £35m by way of benchmark
You have to give them some respect.

Instead of finding a way to cheat the system like Chelsea and Citeh (which would be entirely understandable given their ownership), they are selling their best young talent, their future.

I think we'll only sign 2 of the 3 central positions for the first team you suggest, (probably 2 players who can each do well in a couple of the 3 you mention though).

That 5 is otherwise exactly my 4 yes 👍 and it's awesome news if we've got the RF spot locked in already here

They are desperately trying to keep Isak without him they are bang average, like us without Mitoma.

So who will be next?
Hopefully two midfielders and a Right back.
For right back we’ve allegedly put a bid in for Wesley.
For midfield, Wieffer and Malick Yalcouye? One first team ready and one for development.
Hinshelwood is our other break through midfielder and Fabian plays just the two central midfielders with two wingbacks. We shouldn’t forget Milner who can play midfield.

Minteh coming in allows us to play Adingra on the left and so can rotate with Mitoma. Hopefully March will return too.

There’s a gaping CM hole still from the loss of Caicedo/Mwepu/MacA, it appears Gross is off and from our own eyes we saw Dahoud didn’t cut it in the PL. Lallana and Fati have gone, 38 year old Milner has no pace and is often injured. Moder seems to have a load of doubters now, the club were willing to let him go to LCFC according to reports.

Protecting our defence, destroying the opposition and driving us forward in the middle, we’re left with Baleba and Buonanotte in August. Hinshelwood to return soon?

Amazing. Par for the course I suppose. A game spectated on by armchair accountants and algorithm merchants. It seems to be a lifestyle.

Go to stadium. Drink tea. Watch nice man run and kick good 👍🏻 or not so good 👎.

What happened to those glory days eh.

These aren't the players you're looking for.

There are concrete reports of bids going in for 3 midfielders.

Mats Wieffer of Feyenoord (has previously played with Minteh)
Whoscored average rating of 7.47 last season
Sofascore average rating of 7.35 last season
Fotmob average rating of 7.85 last season

Diego Gomez of Inter Miami (has previously played with Enciso)
Whoscored average rating of 7.28 last season
Sofascore average rating of 7.12 last season
Fotmob average rating of 7.34 last season

and Malick Yalcouye of IFK Göteborg
Whoscored average rating n/a last season
Sofascore average rating of 6.99 last season
Fotmob average rating of
7.25 last season

Swedish Journalist says Yalcouye has the potential to be better than Roony Bardghji, the wonder kid who played for Sweden at 16.

I miss the days a transfer was swung by agreeing to a tank of petrol a month on top of the players salary, or kit donation to the club whose player we wanted :lolol:
