It’s a bit naive calling the Italians out for gamesmanship when the country is crying out for Grealish, and a front 3 of Kane, Stirling and Grealish. Jeez just in wind direction and all 3 could go down. The Italians got the job done. They were the better team, not their fault the ref made some cock-ups.

I can't speak for the nation or NSC but I'd rather any team I support lost rather than won by cheating.
I can't stand it. It genuinely sometimes makes me want to stop watching football

Every single team cheats all the time. Every free kick is the result of cheating. Every time a throw is appealed for when you know it came off you is cheating. Every time the keeper doesn't release after 6 seconds or an attacker makes out a tackle is worse by screaming is cheating. Taking too long to make subs is cheating.

Brighton do it all the time. We're quite good at it.

I get where you're coming from, and I'm with you. I watch more cycling than football these days, and the two sports are worlds apart in that respect.

However, if you're suggesting the Italians won by cheating tonight then I disagree.

They won by scoring two beautiful goals in the first half and out playing Belgium for the best part of 80 minutes, pretty much up until Spinazzola went off injured basically, and they'd began to run out of energy.

The better team won on the night.

I love that you chose cycling to compare football with in terms of cheating, of all sports :lolol:

I love a bit of cycling, for the record :)

Do you think there's no PED's in football then??? If that's what you're referring to?

I'm talking about the play acting and screaming like babies

Yep. The English football pearl clutching when it comes to foreign teams cheating is always grating. And hypocritical.

If I could re-phrase it as game management, then I'll more than concede that Hughton delivered a masterclass for us in it, and that idealist apprentice Potter could learn a trick or two from the wily old dog.

These aren't the players you're looking for.

You weren't a fan of Glenn Murray then? He was the king of winning a dubious free kick to alleviate pressure.

Every single team cheats all the time. I'm not certain about all the time but there's a lot of it about.
Every free kick is the result of cheating. Not all.
Every time a throw is appealed for when you know it came off you is cheating. I agree.
Every time the keeper doesn't release after 6 seconds Ref problem
or an attacker makes out a tackle is worse by screaming is cheating. Correct, I hate it.
Taking too long to make subs is cheating. I agree

Brighton do it all the time. We're quite good at it. And I still don't like it.

Until refs get wise to the cheating and pundits don't excuse it. Until retrospective punishments are given, the beautiful game is always going to be a bit less beautiful to me than it should be.

A fan of the man himself yes.
A fan of his dubious shenanigans no.

Is this what football has become?
Are we so obsessed with winning and our team that we can gloss over all the dodginess?
I'm sorry but I don't like to see it from any player in any team.

When it's so overt and blatant it's very irritating to watch

I agree that the better team won on the night.
I don't think they won because they cheated. They were better and had no need to cheat to try to get the win.
Superb goals and they'll be tough opponents.
As an aside, it always amazes me how some players have so little self respect that in front of millions of viewers they'll feign injury to get an advantage then get up and run around knowing they've just made a total cokk of themselves on TV.
I couldn't live with myself but I guess all people are different.
