feel sorry for Sean Dyche, they were screwed start of last season, skint and losing money, Malky Mackay left, as did most of their better players and I thought they may even be relegation candidates. Little by little he got them playing, added some good players etc and to be in the play off mix near season end was a remarkable achievement.

In some ways, as much as I like Zola, I hope he doesn't do as well as Dyche, as this is shoddy and he has served them well for a while

I wonder if Sean Dyche is aware yet? Finding out you've got the tin tack by Newspaper is a new low. Getting the sack by text appears the in thing these days.

Atleast he didn't show up one day and be told, "Someone was supposed to ring you, I'm sorry".

Very harsh on Dyche, but not a surprise that new owners want to bring their own man in. Hopefully they'll invest in the playing side and the ground as the fans have been suffering for a few years with underinvestment

That's football for you. They all buy into it. At least he will have his contract paid up unlike the real world where people get laid off every day and get nothing for their trouble except government hand outs. Nope, no sympathy here for anyone in football land. :)

It's been whispered about since the new owners were first rumoured to be interested in buying Watford - I'm not sure Zola would actually be impressed to be ousting an incumbent manager in this way but as Gus would say "tha's fuball......."

As a fan given the choice of Dyche or Zola ? ..........................well you would wouldn't you

Dyche'll be coming into a FAIR bit of money though, right?

It'll be intresting to see whether Zola will be able to impose his style of football on that pudding pitch they're lumbered with, sharing with the ruggerbuggers.

Still, and exciting appointment for them. Zola is a big enough name and probably has plenty of contacts to bring in some proper FLAIRniacs to VR.

If this is true. I would be very worried if I was a Watford fan, what did Dyche do wrong in his first Managerial role? He had hardly any money to work with and got them around mid-table. When everybody predicted them to be Relegated, also he built a very dogged and well organised side there.

He did nothing wrong except that he was not born in Italy. The new owners are Italian so an Italian must be manager and Zola is free. My brother in law is Italian and a nicer bloke you could not wish to meet, but what make of car must they have,Fiat, who built their extension,Italians, who decorated their flat so they could rent it out, Italians. I love Italy and Italians but they stick togerther like shit to an army blanket.

I can't help but feel that Gianfranco Zola is too nice to be a top manager. That's not to say he can't do well at Watford and get them to challenge for the play-offs but the Championship will always be around his level.

Badly needs a No 1 IMO - also, feel very sorry for Dyche because he did a bloody good job last year with little to no dosh. They do appear to have a pretty good development system/academy there though.
