Zinedine Zidane will become the new manger of QPR later today, according to a report in Sunday's newspapers.

The sensational claim dominates The People's backpage this morning, with the paper declaring: 'Rangers owner Flavio Briatore has promised a major announcement before today's final match of the season at home to West Brom - and informed whispers insist he'll name Zidane as Loftus Road boss.'

Rangers captain Gareth Ainsworth is described as 'adding to the intrigue' by inviting fans to attend the 'dawn of a new era'. "Sunday promises to be a day every QPR fan, old and young, remembers for the rest of their lives," he wrote in his programme notes.

QPR's match with the Baggies is scheduled for a 1400 BST kick-off.

Wow that would be a story, one of the best players I,ve ever seen live.

I thought they were happy with the maanger, I mean they were relegation fodder when he took over, will be a big ask for Zidane to swap Marseille for London. Has he got any coaching badges.

Strange one. They've had cash for the past six months or so but have used it pretty wisely to date and the current manager has done a good job to get them out of the trouble they were in.
Maybe they're now gonna spalsh the cash big style to try and get promoted next season.

Does Ainsworth seriously think he'll be a major part if this all came about?

i can't help thinking that all this 'richest club in the world' bollocks could come back to bite qpr in the arse, shame, as i quite like them as a club for some reason, and would like to see them in the premiership
