Basically i brought some zebra finches in a cage today for my wife and kids as a present. On returning home my partner shrieked '' Flying f***ing rats''.

I am now stuck, i love them and keep playing with them but she hates them. The problem is the pet shop is closed until tuesday, so does anybody have experience of keeping these birds? Or does anybody want to buy them off me?

Many thanks, the owner of two unwanted birdies!

Zebra Finches are lovely little birds to have as pets.

Seeing a flock of Zebra finches in the wild is an awesome sight.

Flying rats are pigeons, not a Zebra Finch.

I'd get rid of the partner if they can't handle two cute little birds in a cage.

I'm thinking "Hello, dear" would have been better.

Mind you, if there's birds involved, a peck on the cheek might have helped too.

Just one piece of advice.

If you see eggs in the cage remove quickly. A pair of Zebra finches can quickly multiply into 20 if you don't keep an eye on em.
