Clapham High Street could do with a HMV or does it have one I haven't noticed?

Before they put in another bar ? You must be joking....

The big Spanish restuarant in the High Street has just sold off half their space for ANOTHER bar.

The first reaction to a shop opening to be honest, is that will be gone in a year.

Unless it's the few Asian businessman that do open shops up (the kind of shops that sell everything) and are an absolute saviour.

I get the impression that a fair few of the shops are owned by a few families.

If you think that they've bought, packaged and sold items off the shelf long before their supplier gets paid....

More than likely but they can get away with it...............

I was going to say, it's teeming with bloody bars!

I wouldn't mind them extending the bierodrome if they'd lower the prices..

They can stuff their Belgian special brew strength loopy juice.

I lived directly above it as they were building it, and the bastards started drilling at 7 in the morning and all weekend as well - so desperate were they to get it done before the Christmas it opened.

That place made out lives a misery for about 6 months until we moved out.

Our living room was above the bar and our bedroom above the kitchen.

When it opened the cleaners used to get in about 5 and put the bloody juke box on :D

Such were the acoustics of the building above, we never knew where the routine alarm call of Champagne Super Nova was coming from for months.

That kind of thing can actually drive you to tears. I experienced a similar thing for a year in Brighton until I moved in with a mate and sold my flat. I was actually going bonkers.

I thought Branson sold up the Virgin Megastores chain years ago and therefore has no business interest in what is now Zavvi.

Correct, he doesn't

will Mr Branson save them, doesn't he guarantee loans

I very much doubt it, I would have thought the reason he sold up in the first place was because he realised that illegal downloaders, pirated DVDs and under cutting supermarkets were going to have a massive impact on future profitability of the chain, so why would he re-invest?

May as well already have gone here, having closed nearly all their stores here over the past few years. Overpriced compared to HMV, very poor selection of stock.
