He's GOT to go to the World Cup!!!

he's going the right way about it. If Walcot isnt fit, Bent and Cole not firing, he's there.

Great goal, but I'm just not convinced he'll make the step up to international level. That said, we have a whole lot of average players behind Rooney and Defoe.

not only that but i cant think of another player who can hold the ball up as well, other than Capellos favorite Heskey. if Capello want to build around Rooney playing off a physical shed, a good plan imo, there needs to be an understudy for Heskey. Crouch is gash in the air, Cole and Bent want to get in the box too eagerly. Zamora is happy to sit, fetch and carry and can play left to right. his flexibility makes up for outright quality.

Went to the game tonight, just got in, as got u16 tickets on the website and with it being automated turnstiles and barcodes had no trouble getting in for £5
Was a great goal, was up the other end but took it very well. However apart from that he didnt do much at all imo, looked pretty poor. If he is to be in the squad for England would have to do far far more, as his hold up play was poor and didnt win too much in the air. I've always knocked fulhams support, and a large proportion tonight were there simply because it was decent football at a low price, but the atmosphere was pretty good.
For £10 all in was a good night!

I was there as well. Had to pay £20 as apparently they don't sell U21 tickets on the gate! Good to know about the u16 tickets for the future.

I thought he was pretty good on the whole. His hold-up play was decent enough when he actually got the ball, unfortunately he was starved of service for much of the game due to all the possession Shakhtar had. But when he got the ball he made good use of it, setting up the first and scoring the second, although he should have added a third really. He won a few fouls for his team in some decent positions as well.

I went as well. :lolol:

Cracking goal from Bobby, but not a great deal of his usual good hold up play. Mind you he saw practically none of the ball in comparison to other occasions when I've seen him for Fulham. Shakhtar were a different class at times, and their quartet of Brazilians in the middle - Jadson, Willian, Ilsinho & Fernandinho, wow, what a joy to watch. Probably some of the best passing, movement and ball retention I've seen in the flesh. Fair play to Fulham though for somehow coming away with the win despite not truly being on top at any point in the game!

As for Bobby and the England team, all he can do is keep scoring, and impressing with his hold up play. But unfortunately I still don't think he's quite cut out for international football, and his lack of any previous involvement with the full England squad makes him extremely unlikely for a WC call-up, for me.

Zamora with 14 goals should be in serious contention for the World Cup now. I will be very dissapointed if he did not make the Eqypt squad.

I think he is definitely worth a look in what will almost certainly be a trial game. Rooney aside I do not think any of the other candidates have guaranteed their spot in the squad.
