You had a great first half we had a great second half and should of had a point so fairly even I rekon
I say you were unlucky but as we all know that's what we both experience week in/out.

We both made the same amount of changes for that game from memory.
Only 4 changes made from your preceding league game.
In which we were also forced to play a weakened side due to having a dozen players injured who would all have made the first team. The FA Cup game was pretty much the height of the worst injury crisis Palace have had in living memory. Roy described it as the worst he'd ever experienced in a 42 year managerial career.

In the starting XI we had a full back playing at left wing, a winger playing up front, a centre-back playing in midfield, and the semi-retired Damien Delaney starting at centre half.
Our reserve team were certainly pretty average in the FA Cup, yeah.
As for Saturday, we looked far superior to you in the first half and were unfortunate not to be out of sight at HT. We were utterly dominant and anyone watching could see that we were the better side. Zaha and Loftus Cheek strolled through your defense with ease time and time again, and were clearly a different class to any of your players.
Just read your match thread; it's full of Brighton fans bemoaning the fact that we were clearly too good for you.
Total Football. Palace probably invented it.
You had a "great second half" in which you didn't score a goal. You were throwing everything at a side who have been conceding late goals in every game recently and you still couldn't score. A draw would've been a major injustice and you know it!
We've had almost half a decade longer than you in the Premier League and the difference in the quality of our squads is a reflection of that.
The team you played against on Saturday isn't a relegation threatened side so there's no shame in losing to it; .
But, let's be clear. Palace have been in the Premier League for, what, approximately ever and have spent considerable sums on playing talent as they aim to become not only Premier League stalwarts but European challengers.
We are plucky little lower league Brighton. Palace fans told us repeatedly what a shock we would have this year, and how much of a struggle it would be.
Yet, even after beating us on Saturday and, by their accounts, delivering some sort of footballing masterclass (a bit at odds with Roy Hodgson's "we did it the hard way" comments) they still sit below us in the Premier League table.
That has to be disappointing for a side with such lofty ambitions.

History is written by the winners. So Zaha can say that Palace proved they were better than us and Tomkins that they showed they have learned not to concede late goals. But both points of view only stand up because FFS Murray failed to bury that late chance.
Top flight derby record: Brighton wins 3, Palace wins 1, draws 2.
