At 10M someone might take a punt on him as a player to bring off the bench. However rather vital to palarse I imagine so if they ever sold him the owner would get slated.

Scoring against our newly elevated to 5th choice keeper, will be a huge boost I’m sure. How many times did he fall over and con the ref by the way?

10m :moo:

Are you honestly saying you wouldn't take him in your starting X1 at Brighton? I bet 99% of Brighton fans deep down would love him, they just wouldn't admit it.

There are quite few Brighton fans who wou;ldn't mind seeing him play for us.
But the vast majority of us realise that6 whilst he is a very good player, he is also a petulant dick that really wouldn't fit in here.

Palace fans are prepared to put up with all this because he is so important to their team's survival, but deep down wish they had a squad like ours and weren't so dependent on a dickhead.

I don't think many Palace fans wish to have a squad like yours, remember last year we finished 14th and you were 16th. Or are you saying we are a 1 man team? If so, you are couldn't be more wrong. Ebereci Eze is just as important to us, Beneteke had a decent season and players like Guiata, Tomkins, Reideweld, Schlupp are all very important payers. Add to that Olise and Guehi who is signing later on this week and we have some fantastic players in our ranks and I'd reckon another 4 or 5 will be joining before the deadline. I'd judge us then. I also think however that Brighton also have some fantastic players like Sanchez, White, Webster, Dunk, Lampety, Bissoma and March but to say Palace fans wish they had a squad like yours is just plain wrong.

Our squad has been put together to be a decent Premier League squad with succession planning in mind.
We can afford to lose a £50m rated player and still expect a decent season.

You have just let half of your squad's contracts expire and are now desperately looking to piece together a squad with 4 week's left to te start of the season.
Inevitably you will be forced to overpay in contract fees and wages (again).

You may not be a 1 man team, but you don't have strength in depth and neer have had.
Are you saying you would still feel confident if Everton swoop and take Zaha from you in the next 3 weeks?

Again, you are seriously underestimating our squad. It's as if you believe we have 8 players left at the club. The reality is we have 17 players ready to go for the first team, 3 more out injured amd Guehi set to sign in the coming days.

In regards to losing Wilf, yes it would be a big loss but I think if we spent the 40-50m that we would get for him on a decent replacement we would do well still.

At this stage what is your prediction for the season? What areas of your squad do you believe need strengthening?

A genuine question here, do you really think anyone is going to pay 40-50 million for him?

He has now passed his peak, he is not that prolific anyway- wasn't his best season something like 10/11 goals-not bad but not 50 million pounds worth, and , given that Man Utd will take a massive chunk of that fee,(isnt it 25%?) you wont end up with anything like your 40-50 million figure

Wasnt his selling price 80 million plus at the end of the season before last- so his (inflated value) has dropped by 40-50% in one season. This is a player with at most one 3 year ish contract left in him , very little resale values as he will be too old for any big bucks, no team is going to shell that kind of money out

Realistically you are looking at 25-30 million, of which man utd will get a sizeable chunk, your options will be quite limited

It's a tough question as no one knows how well Vieira is going to do and who is else we are bringing into the club. Eze's injury was a huge blow, with him in the team id be more confident. Defo bottom half at moment but who knows who how we will do once the window is closed.

We could do with another LB, a CB, a central mid and a striker.

But we wouldn't sell him for 25-30 million that's the point. We would only consider bids around 40-50m, if no one pays that then he will stay.

Can’t see Mr Tumble leaving anytime soon. No club would pay 40 million plus for him, he’s too old for that kind of fee. 2 years left on his contract, more important to Palace this season than near enough any since their promotion, what with a depleted squad. And the of course, there’s Manchester United 25% sell on clause, that last time I heard they were intent on picking up.

How he must regret not forcing a move a couple of years ago. He was good enough to win a Champions League medal then.

There's definitely a downturn in market prices due to Covid. We did well to get £50m for White in the current financial circumstances.
I just can't see any Premier League team stumping up £40m for Zaha and matching his Palace earnings as he'll have very little sell on value due to his age. I'm sure he'll stay at Palace for the majority of his existing contract with Palace forking out £5m a year for his wages. It all comes down to the player himself having the right attitude, or not, under their new manager.,

Didn't know that St George's Park could be 'rented' by football clubs as a training facility. Good idea to do that as part of its purpose.

Burton Albion use it as their training ground

Again you are missing the point.

You're original argument was that Palace fans wouldn't prefer to have our squad over theirs.
The point I made was that you don't have a squad.

You've now doubled down on that argument.

Deluded , thy name is, Palace.

How is 17 players + 3 coming back from injury + Marc Guehi set to sign tomorrow, not a squad? Considering you are only allowed to submit a maximum 25 man squad I think 21 players would be a squad. The other 4-5 signings will come shortly plus we have a couple of very decent U23 players that can fill a gap or 2. I think you are clutching at straws here.
