He's got 18 months left on his deal. Even if they were prepared to take a significant price cut on the transfer fee, I can't believe there will be any suitors out there prepared to pick up that eyewatering £120k a week contract of his for such an abject FAILURE of a player (I nearly put 'striker' then, but well, can you really call him that now ?).

I think they'll be stuck with him. His contract will run down, he'll leave for nothing at the end of it, and CPFC2010 can then sit back and reflect on one of the most financially calamitous transfers in PL history. Between him, Sakho, Meyer and the SEGW, they have utterly wreaked havoc on the wage structure there, which is why they're always pleading poverty now whenever a transfer window comes round.

What a way to run a business.

Didn’t your wage bill break through the £100 mill barrier last season ? and a £35 mill loss as well ?

Oh to have a sugar daddy .

If you want a sugar daddy there are websites I believe. No judgements from us - we’ve been in the modern world for decades unlike uneducated folk in dives like Croydon...

Ps - feel free to compare CPFC2010 wage bill and the Albions - I’m sure El Presidente can tell you just like that...

It was actually just over a £20 million loss, covered by a life long fan of the club with a clear vision of how to progress his club and a willingness to actually invest in it both on and off the pitch.

I suppose we could do it the Palace way, not pay our debts and shaft local businesses and charities, twice.

Probably, but then we haven't got 4-5 players in our squad trousering circa £125k-£130k a week. That is MEGABUCKS for a small club like CPFC2010 to be shelling out - it accounts for around 80% of your turnover. If you went down lumbered with that wagebill, and no more Sky money, and owners who desperately want out of the club, then you're looking at another financial armageddon at Selhurst.

Yes we've made losses as we try to establish ourselves in the PL, as most clubs of our size and standing do. We're fortunate to have an owner who can absorb the losses without running to the banks or looking for random investors though. The spivs and chancers running your club couldn't bail out quick enough in the unlikely event anyone would be interested in buying that shambles.

Exactly how much do you think they will recoup from the sale of Benteke. The only benefit to Palace will to have him of the wage bill.

They can't hope to recover much of the £35m they paid for him, surely?

Exactly that, their wage bill is out of control.

Palace are in a quandary with Zaha.. the value to them is higher than his market value, particularly with the sell on hit they would take.
However he is also one of the big earners.

They also desperately need to get some players in. The old woman was talking about 2 forwards and a defender. That is going to increase wages further.
I would guess there could be some pressure to get the wages down before bringing anyone else in.

Getting Benteke off the books will ease a good chunk off of the wage bill and take some of the need to offload Zaha for a while.

With apologies, of course, to all female NSC users, for laughing. I couldn't help it.

Your spending 70% of your turnover on wages, and rising.
We’ve peaked, and it will fall, especially with Wilf, Benteke and Sakho leaving .

Out of interest are you in the corner of sell Zaha and buy three / four new players or to hang on to him as your main player / biggest asset. Roy is looking at two new strikers I presume that you need to sell to buy. Before you come back with the £50 million for Wan-Bissaka that just about clears your debt from last season not to mention the previous year.
So surely Palace need to sell to buy.

Connor Wickham is fit now and they can always recall Sorloth, so its not ALL bad news on the striker front :)

Zaha will go, but not till the end of the season.
Transfers in will be loans I reckon, not much money available, with the Americans wanting out, and the proposed takeover group doing due diligence.
Your right about the AWB money, they got the 2nd instalment early to start on the academy complex. ( awaiting approval from Bromley council.)

It’s nice to have a decent conversation with someone on here without the normal insults.

A CPFC2010 follower having the NERVE to question any other clubs financial activity is absolutely unreal. You hypocritical bell end postcode boy. Honestly never met a fan base with quite so many jumped up little hypocrites who don’t know their history than CPFC2010. Utter shambles of a club. Why do we just attract the bellends on here who will fight anything CPFC2010 related?! Even FACTS!? I remember they were even trying to say Zaha isn’t a proven diver. I’ve seen multiple posts from our fans, including me, criticising our players for diving. Knight, Murray, Knocky, Alzate earlier this season - yet they can’t seem to ever admit fault or blame.

Always the victims - it’s never your fault.

I for one wish I’d never been kind enough to sign that petition in 2010 to save that shambles - was way too nice. If I’d realised the next generation of utter hypocritical bellends that would appear and argue against facts I wouldn’t have done.

Vile excuse of a football club with complete deluded bellends for followers.

Must be a concern that the January window will be made up of short term loans which I presume would be high earners. Take out Zaha and very few players have a net worth to the Palace due to age.
