I think my two initial thoughts were:

Can we trust these rumours? Or are these things being spread by palace in an effort to encourage arsenal to up their offer? Arsenal make a bid, no one else does, zaha proclaims his love for arsenal, then Everton are suddenly reported to be interested, and they want to give Palace pretty much exactly what they want, imagine that! What's that? Wilf wanted european football. Oh right. Yeah, no, chelsea are also interested! What ban? Oh, yeah, no, they want to sign him to switch when their ban ends. So we get the benefit of keeping him for another two years then get lots more money than you've offered. Honest, guv.

I like the chelsea one - an agreement to transfer when their ban ends, love the idea of them agreeing that, Palace settling in thinking they've got Zaha for two more years, then the ban gets overturned and they take Zaha just before the window closes!
