That’s a decent haul for them for a player that left when he was 12. The point still stands that Plucky can’t really say he’s a product of their academy. We have more claim on Gareth Barry than that and we hardly mention him, unless he’s stood on Brighton beach with a seagull on his head again.

Indeed. Lewis Dunk was at AFC Wimbledon until they moved to Milton Keynes and he joined us at U-12 level. Can't say I've heard of many Dons' fans claiming he is a product of their academy!

Slightly off topic, but what happened to the Icelandic wonderkid striker we had a few seasons back?

Nothing to see here. At least 6 years from the first team. He’s got to get through puberty first.

Joined the lengthening missing persons list, last seen in Lancing. Someone ought to alert the Police, it’s like football’s Bermuda Triangle down there.

Point of order, Sir!

AFC Wimbledon haven't moved to Milton Keynes. They only go there to play away matches against MK Dons (formerly known as Wimbledon FC).

100%, the list is numerous. In fact, these are the academy graduates who are current Premier League players:

Theo Walcott, David McGoldrick, Andrew Surman, Adam Lallana, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Ward-Prowse, Jack Stephens, Luke Shaw, Callum Chambers, Tyrone Mings, Matt Targett, Michael Obafemi, Yann Valeri and Danny Ings.
.

They did of course have Ben White too, but let him go at sixteen.

Of course, White was so bad back them, the staff at St Mary's knew he had no hope of ever succeeding as a footballer unless he got to work with Marcelo Bielsa, who within four hours of turning up at Thorp Arch, had turned him into a hybrid of Franz Beckenbauer and Virgil Van Dijk whose Ballon D'Or is already in the pipeline.

Surely he was at Wimbledon, that’s the team that ‘moved’ to MK. AFC Wimbledon were a new side formed by fans of the club, who disagreed with the move to MK.

Looked a big lad in that brief twitter clip when coming on. Glad we're making exciting British signings like this rather than similarly aged players from far flung places. Better to add those in like Bissouma and Mac Allister at 21.

For Zac, couple years of under 18's and possibly under 23's early if he's sh*t hot. A year back at Oldham on loan and then ready for the first team in 3 years time

Either that or he'll be signing for Lewes in 4 :moo: We do seem to have some very exciting strikers in the U23's already but sent them out around Europe on loan.

Definitely not. At 50, if he's got any sense, he'll have his slippers on. At 15, however...

Under 18 – the player must be under the age of 18 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season. In accordance with the foregoing qualifications a player under the age of 15 as at midnight on 31st August in the playing season must not play in a match where any other player is older or younger by 2 years or more.

Another two this afternoon for the u18 (7-1 vs Southampton!) which takes him to 6 in 8 appearances this season.

Impressive for a 16 year old yes but even more impressive when you see that this was his first 90 minutes, 307 minutes played in total so a goal every 51 minutes!

Would be very fun if he gets to play a few minutes before the end of the season, if relegation is avoided early and there's not much to play for in the last rounds.

Agreed! Along with Rushworth, Tsoungui, Weir , Ferguson, Sturge, Moran and many many more... think we will just have to be patient. Not the worst problem!

Presumably that rule is for youth football? Is there any lower age limit for the first team? I'm sure a few 15 year olds have played league football before.

There does appear to be an lower age limit for Premier League games.

According to the Premier League handbook

Minimum Age
L.20. A Player who for the purpose of Youth Development Rule 2 is placed in an age group
below Under 16 shall not be named in a Club’s team sheet for or participate in a
League Match.

https://resources.premierleague.com...6-ad09c6f0e328/2020-21-PL-Handbook-200121.pdf

I know there are a handful of players who have played aged 15 in the Football League (Reuben Noble-Lazarus being the youngest) and League Cup (Harvey Elliott for Fulham springs to mind) but I cannot find anywhere in their rules etc where an age limit is defined.
