Legends don’t make millions off the back of other’s misery and hard work.

Not that I disagree with your underlying point (to the contrary, I ‘liked’ your post), but I imagine it’s quite difficult to accumulate a supreme amount of wealth without at least a degree of exploitation in the supply chain.

Genuine question; who would be the wealthiest self-made person whom at you couldn’t level such an accusation?

Who wouldn’t want his money? Me. No way would I ever want to be that wealthy. I’d like to never have to worry about money again but big houses and flash cars do not appeal to me. Especially as it’s made form the utter misery of his poor employees and the near slave labour that makes 90% of the landfill destined tut they sell.
Amazon make the bulk of their money selling bundles of consumer data. And that’s mostly made up of useless crap as companies don’t know what their buying, they just purchase a data bundle and hope for the best.

They are what’s wrong with this world.

Can't stand the company, no ethics and yet top of the hit parade in ESG greenwashing...

If I see it on Amazon I find it somewhere else

Plenty of very worthwhile things that could be done with that level of wealth tho eh?

Could do a lot of good with the taxes he avoids.

The way he makes money, the world would be better without Amazon. Before we start thinking about what good we can do we need to think about not doing any harm.

It's quite shocking just how 'fake' the current photo looks compared to 1997.

The thought of anyone being impressed by that is probably the most troubling aspect of this thread.

A lot of Bezos' money is from the AWS technology platform rather than from selling inventory. Most of the apps folks use on their phones are hosted in the AWS "cloud". If you want to boycott Amazon you'll need to boycott all those apps too.

Whilst I'm no fan of Bezos' business model it should be pointed out his businesses are legal and above board. If there are any gripes then surely it should be with the systems that allow him to operate like that.

Spare me the pious lecture. I was replying to your generic comments about not wanting to have that amount of wealth (before you edited in all that anti-Amazon stuff at the end)

Alright, grumpy boots. It’s merely my opinion.

The only thing I want to hand to Bezos is an invoice for the tax his company hasn't paid globally

What a legend.

How can someone look younger 25 years later as well.....? View attachment 143426

I'll wager he was actually happier in the first picture.

Is that really his wife in pic #2, or a 'hostess' at the tacky (yet probably very expensive/exclusive) bar he's in? Dolly Parton would probably suggest that it took a lot of money for him to get with someone who looks so cheap.

It says a lot about the modern world that many will see picture #2 as winning and laud him for it.

Anyone who wants to make that amount of money should be treated with extreme suspicion.

Check out John Timpson if you think there are no decent entrepreneurs.

He's made a bucket load of money and now wants to shag pretty young things and send himself to the moon....yup fair play!

I have no problem with him going into space. My problem is with him coming back again.
