If we get this one over the line, then we're going to have to come up with a nickname for this guy to help out Warren Aspinall. I'm thinking 'Moroccan Joe' (in tribute to Spanish Dave (aka David Lopez))

Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
That’s how it’s supposed to work. In reality, player/agent will already have agreed terms with club.

But we know of two players have taken a different turning off the motorway to a different club, after bids have been accepted.

He may or not have done, something we will never know. But I do feel sorry for some of these youngsters like the young lad from Serbia, comes here sees all the facilities, signs for the club and then is pushed straight out QPR on loan

Brighton fans don't even know where he's from.

Indeed. People are really embarassing themselves

Bohemian Rhapsody

Is he real deal?
Youssef En-Nesyri
Often caught offside
But possesses lots of speed

Open your eyes,
Look up to the skies and see,
He's not poor boy, he needs no sympathy,
Strikers will come, strikers will go,
Prices high, prices low,
Any way the budget goes, doesn't really matter to me, to me.

You didn't actually sing that through did you.

*Yawn*

Realistically, this bloke isn't going to come in and score the goals to keep us up. 9 in 31 against the might of Elche, Osasuna and Vallalodid. But he could potentially be a good addition. Plenty more firepower required.

I am going to consider that high praise from you.

Albion are still finalising Graham Potter's squad

Albion were last night awaiting fall-out from Madrid as their striker hunt went on. The Seagulls are keen on Leganes striker Youssef En-Nesyri and are widely reported to have bid about £18.2 million, or 20 million Euros.

En-Nesyri missed his team’s friendly against neighbours Alcorcon yesterday after his return from the Africa Cup of Nations, where he scored twice. The 22-year-old Morocco international scored nine goals in 22 starts last term to help Leganes, one of the smaller clubs in LaLiga Santander, finish 13th. The left-footed forward previously had a good stint at Malaga.

En-Nesyri was keen to negotiate a new deal and pay rise at the end of last season but Leganes would be willing to sell him for 20 million Euros paid up front. That would show a massive profit on the five million Euros they paid for him a year ago, when he signed a contract until 2023.

Albion are also thought to be well-placed to sign Neal Maupay while aware Brentford will be unwilling to sell their star striker until they believe they have covered his departure. Bees have signed Joel Valencia to boost their attacking unit although the Ecuador international is a winger rather than a focal point of the attack.

Albion were last night awaiting developments over players for whom they have reportedly bid, including Bristol City defender Adam Webster. It is believed there could be player movement by the weekend.

That would in turn potentially trigger further activity, including loan deals.

Andone out on loan if both the the strikers come off?

More likely Hemed and Connolly.

En-Nesyri, Maupay, Andone, and Murray ( who runs out of steam if played too much ) seems about right for central attack, with Locadia now featuring as a left / right sider.

Moroccan Joe sounds like something you'd buy in an Amsterdam coffee shop

Keen on signing this fella I’d never heard of till a couple of days ago. But does the thread dropping to half way down page two mean a) the deal is dead in the water or b) he’s just not as good as Calleri?

And, dare I say he looks a bit Zamora-esq?

Can you provide some examples of Potterized players? I know James & McBurnie from Swansea but I’m sure there are lots more?

The whole idea in Östersund was to sign players who had been considered talented, but lost the plot along the way. Ken Sema and Saman Ghoddos were both considered average Swedish tier 2 players, now Sema is in Watford and Ghoddos a key player in Amiens (Ligue 1). Modou Barrow was found in the third division and within a year he had debuted for Swansea in Premier League.

Curtis Edwards was thrown out of Middlesbrough for bad behaviour and quit football before he ended up in "Ytterhogdals IS", a climbing Swedish lower division team that only signs rejected British talents in order to give them a last chance of pro football. Östersund was well aware and Edwards was signed and became a key player in the Europa League thangy. Convicted gang ex-criminal Boyd Mwila captained the team. Orphan Sam Mensiro at the right back. Fouad Bachirou was found in the Scottish second tier and is now considered one of the best if not the best player in Malmö FF.

Jamie Hopcutt came from Tadcaster Albion, David Accam - later Ghanian international - was found in Evesham United.. the most remarkable with Potters success in Östersund was definitely that it was a team of complete nobodies - no exceptions - that had a sickening 90% pass completion ratio in Allsvenskan and beat giant teams out in Europe.

Which is wonderful.
We will not be signing criminals or players from Evesham though, sadly.

Does this signal the end of our 'No Dickheads' policy then?
