Never trust a man with a beard
Never trust a woman with painted toenails
There will be cornflakes on the table in the morning, whatever happens

1 - you are what you eat
2- treat others how you wish to be treated yourself
3 - buy a property in a central area if possible not a suburb as it will increase in value more over time .

Do unto others as you would have them do to you - the “golden rule”, which is a tenet of every major religion.
To thine own self be true (Shakespeare?) (edit - yes, it’s Hamlet)
Be sure your sins will find you out.

The last one not necessarily true, but why take the risk? I worked out years ago it’s easier to be honest than to have to remember what you’ve lied about or covered up.

1) Don't spend time worrying about something you can't do anything about.

2) Love conquers everything ( Except poverty and toothache )

3) If it sounds too good to be true, then it is more than likely to be too good to be true.

The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but that's the way to bet.

And as a adjunct to Runyon's pearl of wisdom, my dad told me never to be on an odds-on favourite

I've always liked Wittgenstein's advice: "Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent" - but then I'm a logical postivist at heart

Everything in Moderation. My Dad must have said this once a week for most of his life....

It is good he didn't over do it.

Try to look at a situation from another person's perspective
Take football one game at a time
Realise it is almost impossible to change someone's mind when you're arguing with them online. So don't even bother trying.

If you are wrong , acknowledge it, apologise.

Never trust a Tory.

Money isn’t as important as someone else’s health let alone your own.

Never ever let someone blow a straw full of cocaine up your bum.

Relish you and your friends and families good health.

That’s it from the Questions jury.

The words of my very good friend David (WSL) have stuck with me for decades:

- wee when you can
- never trust a fart
- never waste a stiffy

Pretty sound starting point for every day.

1/ slow down - better to arrive late in this life than early in the next
2/ dreams - if something appears too good to be true, it probably is
3/ friendship, love and trust - are a bit like a bank account, you can't keep making withdrawals without also making deposits

Never drink in a pub with a flat roof.
If someone says "Trust me", don't.
Live for today, plan for tomorrow,

Saw one on BBC News the other day that really resonated. Don't even remember what country the lady nurse was being interviewed in, with regard to the Astrazenica hesitancy in her country. Clearly remember her words though: "When you're caught up in danger from a natural disaster like a volcano eruption, you don't stop and question the make of car that comes to rescue you"
