Barco. We'll need to fast track Barco.

We're going to run out of fit forward players at this rate

Steele
Lamptey Van Hecke Dunk Estupinan
Gross Moder
Adingra Enciso Barco
Fati
Assuming Welbeck isn't risked, how about this?

Enciso starting is a question mark maybe, but if he's fit enough, I'd love to see him as #10. Buonanotte instead otherwise

And that would leave a bench along the lines of ....

Verbruggen / Igor / Webster / Lallana / Baleba / Buonanotte / O'Mahoney / Baker Boaitey / Peupion.

Options really starting to thin out.

Fair enough, though he might now be reconsidering how quickly he gets integrated with the Mitoma news? (too late for Wolves obvs)

Steele
Lamptey Van Hecke Dunk Estupinan
Gross Moder
Enciso Buonanotte Adingra
Fati

Probably needs Lallana as #10 for a bit of experience amongst the youngsters, but starting Fati, Lallana and (arguably) Lamptey means 3 subs on the hour are pretty much decided before the game starts. Would Moder definitely last 90?

De Zerbi's going to earn his money this week, that's for sure.

Gutted about Mitoma but he's clearly been struggling on and off for months. Same with Ferguson.
I have to say I've been a bit surprised/amused by people NOT expecting more injuries in the second half of the season. Suspect this is the reality now, especially under a manager like RDZ. Massive, massive workload on the players.

I've lost interest in tomorrow. We need some space in the schedule.

6 games in 19 days starting tomorrow. 5 in 16 if we are out of the FA Cup (and City get through).
My mistake.

This is the most negative thing i've ever posted right, but that's the dream for this season done right there isn't it?

You know, that might get to Dublin, make the cup final, finish 7th, that kind of thing. They were always tall orders, but if we kept our big players fit, Mitoma, Pedro, we had a chance.

Sure we've got decent players coming in. Enciso is back, Fati i'm led to believe has elite quality, Barco is promising. But make no mistake, none of them are going to give us what Mitoma gives us.

I’m just so frustrated, we’ve got the squad to cope with normal levels of injuries but we’ve been averaging 6 or 7 or 8 for the last 3 months

That was my initial take too.

I've been confident we had the players and the manager to achieve something extraordinary this season.
I bought into the fact the early season rotation, would see us well set for a charge at the business end of the season.

The returning players in March, made me believe we would be ready to attack all three competitions.

I was considering putting a £100 bet on us to reach Dublin, to offset the cost of the trip.
That idea feels pretty ridiculous right now.

To reframe it more positively...
If we end up anything higher than tenth and even put up a semblance of a performance in the cups I think it will be a truly miraculous effort.
I think no Gilmour for 3, JP out and Mitoma for the season are absolutely massive blows.
Eventually something has to give. Or does it?

Our expectations will have to be lower now yes.

I totally admit, i'd been getting carried away with mine, but with a fully fit squad, or even one carrying a normal number of injuries, the dream of silverware seemed possible with the incredible players we've got.

If there's somehow we could still finish above Chelsea and put up respectable showings against Roma, i'd take that
