My gut instinct questions why GP would change a winning team after the Spurs performance, i.e. those players deserve to keep the shirt.
However, if there are to be any changes then he may decide to ‘rest’ Connolly if he feels his appearance on the rain soaked Switzerland pitch on Tuesday may have taken a lot out of him. If he did this then you would have to think that either Murray or Propper would come in depending on the formation he wants to play.

Potter has said Trossard isn’t ready to start and hinted that Connolly will be starting on bench.

So based on that I think:

Ryan
Webster
Dunk
Burn
Montoya
March
Stephens
Propper
Mooy
Gross
Maupay

Bench

Alzate
Connolly
Button
Murray
Duffy
Trossard
Bong

Only change could be Mooy might be a bit knackered as I assume he has been travelling so maybe Murray comes in.

Potter sets up to exploit the opposition's weakness. He isn't of the "you've earned you place, you're in until you cock up". He'll change the side if he feels we need a different set up to out manouvre Villa.

Potter always surprises!

I’m learning to love these mysterious selections!

I can’t wait to see what is up his sleeve.

Will we see 4 centre backs (vs Burnley) or 4 central midfielders (vs Spurs). Who knows? Actually, as long as Smith & Villa don’t know, we’ll be fine.

CH’s teams and formations were always very very predictable, Potter is so different.

If it’s total surprise Potter is after, he’d do well to drop every player who started and performed so well against Spurs and adopt a Hughton 4-4-1-1 special!

Schelotto—Duffy——Balogun——Bong
Ali J———Pröpper—Bissouma——-March

———————Murray———————-

No room for Izquierdo, Bernardo or Baluta but still, this team would do well under Potter! It would beat any Championship team easily.

Was about to give this a go myself, but apart from the three centre halfs I wouldn't know where to start.

Also when thinking about this, I've noticed how many more options we have in midfield now, with the introduction of Alzate and Trossard.

Bissouma seems to be the forgotten man on this thread so far also?

Ryan Dunk and Stephens would imho be the only bankers

Ryan and Mooy have been in Australia and Taiwan over the last 2 weeks.

Wouldn't be totally surprised to see them both - or particularly Mooy - on the bench.

On Thursday, Potter said Trossard won't be ready to start (or words to that effect), yet lots of people are naming him in their starting Xi. Bizarre.
