There are other scenarios in addition to just the STH one I mentioned, such as groups of friends where some are STHs and some A+ members.

There are also examples of fans with great purchasing histories who are excluded.

All this is happening in a stadium where we have 34,000 tickets and the guarantee of a ticket is high but the question of whether you can sit with friends and family is left unanswered.

No mole hills. Look at the title of this thread. People are forced into some bizarre strategy when with more thinking it could all be avoided.

Great purchasing histories - every fan knows that a £30 membership per year gives you a great chance of tickets. If you are going to do a few games per season, then it's a bit of a must.

You can't have the scenario where fans who have built up loyalty points through attending most games can't get in the lower tier or safe standing, or preferred area because a load of P1 fans and their friends, A+ or whatever have taken up all those tickets. That can't be fair can it?

34k tickets, the ST holder just waits until Monday to buy with their A+ mates.

Anyway, we're discussing slight tweaks and scenarios, you started by calling the whole thing 'f**king stupid' - I'll agree there are many other ways to have sliced up the priorities, but it doesn't necessarily make this one stupid.

I think this is the whole point. It's not like a normal away game where all tickets cost the same and you're all in the same few blocks. It's a special occasion. There's a huge difference in the type of seat in different areas of the ground (view v atmosphere etc) and the price of seat (30-120).

While there's not going to be a problem with all STHs being able to get a ticket, I don't think it's a problem to let those in window 1 have first choice.

If STHs want to wait and sit together with STHs in lower windows, it's unlikely they won't be able to do that - they are choosing to have less choice of area/cost to sit with mates/family. I don't see a problem with that and that's more fair than a free-for all meaning the most loyal fans being stuck with a crap view or having to fork out £120 or whatever.

Just my opinion. But we've worked a points-based loyalty system for years and most of us know how it works.

It's Brighton at ****ing Wembley, just be happy to be going and don't begrudge a bit of a thank you for those who traipse round the country's sh*tholes week in week out.

Mrs Sir G and her friend (both Window 2) have bought theirs already, my mate and I (Window 4) will log in at the appropriate time to get ours.
Quite painless this morning.

UPDATE: My mate and I logged in this morning, and he bought two seats next to the ones we bought above. Straight in - bought tickets - and out again. Still very painless.

Id agree with all of that....and no dig at those who are, but not sure a 1901 club member in tier 1 is more loyal, they're probably just a bit better off and are worth more to the club financially.

The general tier 1 riff raff, are the in the main the most attending/loyal.

I just bought two in area 138, lower tier.

For some reason, unlike other cup ties, the online process would let me buy for our two ST numbers. Rejecting any attempt to order two tickets.

So I had to run the process in tandem on two devices, simultaneously, to prevent us being separate on the day.

OK, so let's say that you and I want to go together. Perhaps we also want to sit with a friend who is an Albion+ member and their son, who has been to 7 or 8 games this season, home an away but never bother to get an A+ membership. We're all going to get tickets and we can probably get four together if we wait until the first guest windows open, assuming one of us in STH Window 1. But why have all the uncertainty in the first place?

At present I'm managing about 6 season ticket holders purchases across 5 different windows to ensure we can sit as close together as possible, and I've got two other friends who have purchase histories but no A+ membership and two familiy members that would also like to come.

It could be so much easier, which is why the system is lazy and stupid.

I have to say that with three of us in three different windows, even though my son may end up sitting well away from me, we can't complain about the fairness of the system. My second season ticket is in Mrs T's name (albeit my son is taking it over next season) so it is what it is. Those who score max loyalty points deserve first dibs. And so on. Otherwise it would be communism, and nobody wants that.

Managed to get a block of 10 near the back of the lower tier this morning. Most of us were window 1 but had to wait for 2 STH who weren't.

It did all sell really quickly, if I hadn't been in the queue at 9am I probably wouldn't have manged it. I suspect the majority were in the same position, judging by how quickly seats disappeared.

Think this is the fairest way of doing it. STH must have priority choice, if you want to sit with non-STH then you'll have to sacrifice choice of seat, otherwise non-STH are jumping the queue based on who they know.

I caved in, was waiting for P3 STH+guest, but got a little nervous about missing out. Got my ticket and will hope I can another next week..

My gamble paid off! Although I’m Priority 1 I held off until today to get friends and family tickets. So eight of us altogether in the lower tier behind the goal. The online booking system worked really well, although in the queue I only had to wait about 15 minutes from joining to completion.

Interesting to see that nearly all lower tier tickets have been sold.
