What's a second team?

Its usually the team that plays after the manager drops several 1st team players to give them a rest and allows him to give fringe players a decent run out but in a fairly meaningless / non-priority game. (see our starting line up in the FC united / Woking games last season)

I think some people's definition of a second team varies from others. I take it to mean a team that I look out for their scores. Nothing more, nothing less.
