Good to share that odd game over the years that you fondly remember. Ist game , met a friend you still go to games with, 1st away, travel nightmare etc. As a very young seagull, I went to see BHA vs Spartak Moscow. Circa 1971. Night game at Goldstone. Friendly. Think 0-0, or possibly 1-0 with Ken Beamish in the South ? Can anyone antique specialist Clarify.

My fav game will always be the play off semi final against Swindon... Fantastic. Running onto the pitch in the pouring rain after the penalty win. They played very well but with heart and grit we got through. Adam Virgo

Aldershot away - around 75/76. My first ever away game. Went with my best mate on a coach. His mum had made us plentiful supplies for the day.

En route, the coach driver got lost and we did half a dozen trips around a roundabout; cue the coach bursting into the Magic Roundabout theme tune. Got into the ground where the ground announcer was thanking "the vocal support of the North Bank throughout the season". The North Bank was full of Brighton! I can still remember one copper - yup, just one - wading into the Brighton fans, truncheon drawn. He disappeared and I never saw him again but his helmet was thrown in the air by fans for the duration.

IIRC we needed a win to keep promotion hopes alive. Wardy scored for us in a 1-1 draw. They had coppers lined up around the pitch most of the game but with about 5 minutes left they all disappeared. Final whistle was the cue for absolute carnage. Pitch invasion and the crossbars were broken. I remember sitting down in the centre circle with hundreds of fellow fans.

Such a memorable day. I thought to myself "Away games are going to be great fun if they are all like this". Then I went to Cardiff.............................

I went to that game. Just missed out on promotion but it was the start of the Ward adventure. 36 goals the next season and up we went. It was Good Friday 1976.

Albion 5-4 Staeu Bucharest with Crumplin getting four, a balmy goldstone summers evening and an extraordinary HT score line. Probably the best pre season friendly ever!
