Slight problem. You are presently in the London borough of Croyden and this is in the London borough of Bromley. So you will have to convince a whole load oif external councillors that this is a good thing. W3hich is atricky thing as we found out.

The athletics stadium has a capacity of 15,500, which can be increased up to 24,000 with temporary seating
Selhurst Park capacity NOW 26,309.

So why move into a smaller stadium????

Oh, and its a Grade II listed building.
Grade II* - these are particularly important buildings of more than special interest
Grade II - these are buildings of special interest, warranting every effort to preserve them

Listed building consent
If a building is on the list, any building work will require 'listed building consent', according to the Planning Act 1990. This is obtained through the local planning authority. Even minor works, such as painting or simple repair work in some circumstances, falls under the scope of this act.

The penalty for ignoring this act is up to a 12-month prison sentence or a fine to an unlimited amount, or both. Then you can be expected to carry out, at your own expense, further works to the listed building to remedy the impact of the unauthorised works.

Permitted development rights are on the whole suspended from these buildings

You think we had problems !

Which bit of it is actually listed?

Its all rather endearing isn't it. They're getting left so far behind on and off the pitch that they've have to come up with some two-bob back-of-a-box-of-fags pie-in-the-sky plan to redevelop an athletics stadium to move into, which is where we were over a decade ago.

Quite looking forward to seeing what they come up with now. Should be worth a laugh.

I think that too many on this board are dismissing and mocking the quality of their plans to build a new future. Have we no respect and solidarity with these poor downtrodden Eagles? They have suffered almost 12 months (!!!) of financial uncertainty for goodness sake (which, on top of the 90+ years of playing games at Selhurst must be almost too much to bear).

Read the message. They have LINE DRAWINGS of their new stadium! If this doesn't give an impression of a club with not only vision, but also the £400 it would have cost an architect to sketch some stands in his morning tea break, then I don't know what does.

The fact that they have spunked £30m of other peoples money twice over in recent years, faced no commensurate penalty and still have the audacity to call themselves a Football Club shows, and this is only my humble opinion here, that they are tenacious, spirited and almost aristocratically ignorant, that is precisely the stuff of which Great Britain made its Empire.

Makes you want to weep. We salute you Palace (two fingered of course).

Been saying this for yeas but the snag is that Crystal Palace Stadium is in the London Borough of Bromley and not Croydon and they have made it very clear that they would rather have nice bijou houses than chavy football fans and caravans on the site.

Erm you do know there is a bloody great caravan park right next to Crystal Palace stadium?

Interesting this one. One of the concessions in Spurs plans to demolish and re-build the new Olympic stadium (should they be sucessful in moving there) is to re-develop Crystal Palace as a top class venue for Athletics.

Therefore I would assume that the running track would be an issue.

If West Ham move in to the Stratford stadium and keep the running track, I presume Crystal Palace can be free to exist as a football only arena.

( I of course use the word "football" in the broadest sense )

In any case, anything that moves that club further away from me gets a big thumbs up.

I guess so and good luck to them, it may seem a backward step but they have the space and transport links that they dont have at Selhurst.

Is anyone (apart from Levy) in favour of Spurs depicable plans for the Olympic stadium?
