I agree about absolutely (although I am an offender myself). But it's surely not as bad as "for sure". I blame Sven.

I didn't bother to read all through the post so I don't know if it has already been mentioned but from a written point-of-view when people use the word 'wonder' when they mean 'wander' and vice versa. They sound the same but mean two completely different things! I won't bother to explain for the intelligentsia on here!

Yes my mum does a lot of "turning around to speak".

She also has a penchant for mispronouncing the names of pop bands:

The Pet Street Boys
Ocean Colour Village

(My mate's dear old late gran once described The Three Wets!)

Another in the "them ones" category of pig ignorance is the "what way?" / "what one?" abomination!

Also arksed grinds my gears too (as cited by others here).

A damp squid.

Americanisms? My favourite is "why don't I have" instead of "may I have".

My dear mother also liked to sing along to Sade's hit song...er..."Sooner Or Later"!

Oh and I love the way large numbers of the media mispronounce Madejski as Madjeski or Majeski + one of Reading's own players for gawd's sake (Jason Roberts, of all people).

Albion players?

It seems nearly half our number think our Spanish Flairmeisters are called ViNcente and Caulderon.

I dread to hear what they've got lined up for "Toby" Agdestein!!!

Oh alright then...one more...Darren Gough, Buffoon Of The Airwaves:

'What' instead of 'that' as in "the game what he were playing in". I guess it's regionalist of me but I don't care. Irks me real bad, as does the expression 'real bad'!
