I saw Thompson Twins live a few times in the early 80s when there were still 8 in the band and they were very good. Their problems began when all the 5 talented ones left.
Similar story with The Human League.
Queen. Pretty dull.
I do think Queen are quite overrated.
The Smiths. Awful.
You're probably right, did the five who left form another band? Heaven 17 for a while were amazing.

However it is the decade that gave us the Jam, the smiths, joy division/new order and for that I am truly thankful.
I love the Jam, the smiths, joy division/new order, AND one of my favourite songs of all time is FANTASTIC DAY....
