Single - The Legend of Xanadu - Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch. My second was I'm in a Different World by The Four Tops - wish I could claim this as my first.
Album - Aladin Sane - David Bowie. Still a great Album, but he did a few I like more.
Video - Not a clue.

saaf of the water
Single - Ride a White Swan - T Rex - I guess it would be 1970 (I also have a copy of Back Home, the 1970 World Cup Song. Not sure which came first)

Album - MUCH later - albums were far too expensive for a kid. I think it was probably Slayed, by Slade.

Video - really no idea.

Single, The Streak- Ray Stevens

Lp, Caribou- Elton John

Elton and Bernie's stuff still has merit to this day." Wise men say/ it looks rain today/ it crackled on the speakers and trickled down the sleepy subway trains."

Single - Coz I Love you (Slade)
Album - Electric Warrior (T Rex)
CD - Bad Mood Guy (Severed Heads)

Long interval between my dad buying a gramophone, and my buying a CD player. The unseemly interlude perhaps accounts for the drift to darkness . . .

First single? I bought two together, Whiskey in the Jar - Thin Lizzy and Sylvia - Focus. Still like WITJ but I'll put Sylvia down as a mistake of youth
First album was Phaedra by Tangerine Dream. I'll put that down to a mistake of youth too.
I didn't get a video player until 1987, my first video would have been some opera. I've an idea it was the ENO's Billy Budd but can't be sure

Single - 1964 - The Rolling Stones - The Last Time. Still one of my favourite ever Rolling Stones tracks.
Album - The Rolling Stones first eponymous album. Bought it on CD recently and it helped develop a lifelong interest in the blues through Chuck Berry songs and reading through them about people like John lee Hooker.
Video/DVD - Not really any idea
