The Bombay in Station Road, Bognor Regis in 1978. This is also the one and only place from which I have done a runner.

These were the days when you had to pay extra for breast meat.

It is still there

What the 'Breast Meat' or the curry house...

For me:

It was the place on the Level 'Tropical Curryland'.

Owner was called Oosad Ahotkarri.

well i had my first indian when i was about 15 , but personally think its about the ONLY good thing that has come from the mass immigration of people from the indian sub continent, i mean most of em are bangladeshis anyway, and they are always whining that they need to import more labour from home to be chefs blah blah , why cant white english people be trained by them , can you imagine the outcry if we started turning them down for chefs jobs in english restaurants ??:rant:

Actually it was the English immigrants in India that invented curry as we know it. They went over THERE and changed the food there to THEIR taste and then when THEY left they brought indians over with them to cook it here.

Thought you would have known that what with it being ENGLISH history

My dad wouldn't have "that foreign muck" in the house, so I was 26 when I first had an indian takeaway. I got it from the indian opposite the Long Man of Wilmington, but had to sit in the car and eat it with the other half.

My stepmum has changed all that, last year my father sat at the dinner table & ate a coronation chicken salad. I nearly died!
