Of all the places you've been too in the world, which would you say has left the biggest impression on you?

Havana for me!

I just got back on Monday from 2 weeks honeymoon in Cuba. Havana is a great place. I've got a nice pile of Cohiba cigars which I bought in the shop at the fortress shown at the bottom of the picture. Saw Che Guevara's military office and all the associated items.

It's got a lot of interesting buildings with a lot of character. There's quite a bit of restoration going on at the moment, so it will probably be even more beautiful in the future. Providing Dubya doesn't get in there and turn everything into a McDonalds.

My parents went to the Taj in March. Said it was quality but didnt like India as a whole. I replied I always thought it was a hole.

Tokyo - you have to go to know (lived there for four years, went back for the World Cup last year).

Boracy in the Philippines - idyll.

New Zealand - south island.

Must be Cleethorpes. Can't beat the North East Lincs coast on a damp dreary March morning!

Profound effect, not necessarily for the good!

Montalcino - near Siena. I lived there for 15 months in the 70s.

Despite having a population of only 3,000, the place retains its status as a City. In the 16th century, it was an independent republic - the last such city in Italy to survive the ravages of conquest by outsiders (apart from San Marino).

Home of the best wine in the world, Brunello di Montalcino. If you're interested, there's one bottle of the 1995 Riserva currently in an on-line auction at $225.

There's a rather fanciful account of life in the place today in a book by Isabella Dusi - Vanilla Beans & Brodo - currently available in most bookshops.

So far, it has to be the Riviera Maya, Mexico. Great sandy beaches, coral reef for diving, cenotes (underwater caves to you lot). Back there in 6 weeks.

Favourite may change next year when we go to Zanzibar & Maldives.
Check out the airport at the Maldives. Aircraft carrier job or what?

Good Call Kugull. I stayed in the Holiday Villa to the south of the Island.

Great for "Chill Out" and service.

The other extreme New York. (Still remember my heart pumping with nervous excitement as I drove down for the first time from Boston on the Freeway on a Sunday night, when the sign "The Bronx" appeared overhead!)
