Even if HWT doesn’t have this in his record collection and he may not follow astrology assiduously he may not be able to resist the dress sense - how can one be sure?

I remember that track and like it lots. 0/10

Fair enough, just sticking up for you.

Odd thread for those who are not in the loop though.

I know you were, hence my comment. And it was appreciated

Indeed. And in case you stumble into stinging nettles scoping for genres I presumably detest, here are some acts I love that aren't Blissaragon Demagorgon, Velvet Acid Christ or Assemblage 23:

Chic
Madonna
Bros
Prince Far I
Sabbath
Purple
Led Zep
ZZ Top
Dusty Springfield
Sinatra
Nat King Cole
'Big' Joe Turner
Slade
The Sweet
T Rex
Eminem
NWA
Grand Master Flash...

If you want to wind me up, with something you actually like, the options are: much of Bob Dylan (but not anything from Desire), The Stones (but not anything from Aftermath), the Grateful Dead (although I'd be bored rather than annoyed), Genesis after Gabriel left, Supertramp after Crime of the Century, anything by the Strawbs (come on, somebody must like them), Barkley James Harvest, INXS, Bachman Turnip Overdrive, Bette Midler (except her duet with Tom Waites), Barbara Streisand, or indeed anything from any double or triple LP by Yes.

There are a few others and I'd be happy to award points for direct hits. As you note, it won't be easy.

I like music you see

Not even this?

I adore the piano and vocals, especially from 3:03.

Funny you mention German 5th gear root vegetables . . . I've finally got round to listening ( quickly/surfing as appropriate) to a stack of albums donated . . . . One of which is BTO . . . .

This is a shocker, not even SMashie & Nicey would play this.

It does nothing for me but I don't loath it like I thought I might. Back in the day when the hairy cornflake was drooling over them in hushed tones (if it's possible to drool hushed) I would have wanted to stab that record in the face, but now.....2/10.

I'm still waiting for something egregiously horrible that someone genuinely likes.

OK, I'll post this track which means it is now void. Void, void void. Truly truly hateful :lolol:

What about?

Or

A true story, when my kids were at infant school they took the p out of that song when it played on my car radio. They spotted that naff lyrics, on eternal repeat. I broke the news “I can’t stand that trash”.

Yes, quite, and I'm relaxed about thread derailment, with my very own DSc in Thread Derailment Studies on my mantle piece, but you are supposed to post tracks you genuinely admire (at least, more than I would admire, and ideally much more). It isn't so easy, now, is it, now, hey now? ??? :lolol:

Mate, mate. Mate. You don't like Brotherhood of man so that post is a thread violation. You have to post shit you like :lolol:

:dunce: I forgot about that rule.

Genuinely, try this

It isn't disastrously unpleasant, and I can imagine her doing backing vocals with Planxty, so it's just a 2/10. Must try harder

On the Border
While I do have a few Bachman Turner Overdrive albums and enjoy Takin' Care of Business from their second album, I'm going for a single that I've had in my collection since 1973, albeit it isn't their usual style.

I’m imagining the crossover from this to his punk stage will bring back bitter sweet memories. One minute imagining being Fred Astaire looking at the stars the next down in the gutter with the Stranglers and the Pistols.

I love that you love The Sweet, you really are one of the good guys. But I bet you weren't as IN LOVE with Brian (sigh) as I was as a nipper. Even now the sound of his godlike voice makes my skin tingle.
