I've used the word "fondness" in the question because it covers a lot of ground. I guess you can base your answer on a number of factors, including the results they achieved, their attitude to the job, the manner in which they left, and the legacy that remains. Up to you really.

Felt Gus was over rated, a monkey could of taken us up to the championship with the players he had, how many of them went on to Premier football?

I would say CH as he took us up so won something as well so kudos to him.

Less, and at lower level clubs, than the Saints squad that season, that finished behind us.

Still, agree with the pick of CH, the season we almost went up is my favourite to date.

As human beings, Hughton and Garcia stood out for me. And that is my criteria for this.

I think you should remove 'manner in which they left' as a factor. It should be just about them when they were here. In my opinion.

Would he attend if invited? I'm not so sure after finding his pass to the training ground was invalidated before he even knew he'd been sacked.
The club didn't cover itself in glory the way he was treated. He behaved with dignity. We didn't.

I’d like to think that both parties could come to an arrangement. Chris and Tony are both good men I am sure they can sort something out. As much as I loved Chris he had run out of road and the decision to move on was the correct one at the time.

Bearing in mind in his later matches at Forest he was being constantly serenaded with "you're being sacked in the morning" (and though it pains me to admit it, quite deservedly), he'd probably be quite happy to turn up and be greeted with unreserved applause.

The title of this thread is 'Your favourite...' so a bit misleading - 'fondness' as you say is a different thing.

I am most 'fond' of Hughton, a lovely guy and a total gent who won us promotion to the Premier League in style.

Potter was the 'best'. He revolutionised the way we played and laid the foundations for our current success. But my feeling now is one of bitterness.

My 'favourite' by far though was Poyet. For some of the same reasons I love RDZ - outspoken, passionate and had us playing fantastic possession-based attacking football.

So yeah one of them three I guess...

Fondness, has to be Chris.
He did wonders for the club in moving us forward, he got a lot of stick for his defensive style but it was his style that set us on this path.
Obviously some of the media blew things out of proportion when he left, but I sincerely hope that he doesn't hold any ill feelings towards the club and he looks back on his time with us as fondly as we do.
Not only a great manager but always struck me as being a really nice bloke too, a proper gentleman.
