A vote for the whole cast of the criminally underated Brass (brilliant 1980's ITV spoof of gritty working class potboilers like When the Boats Come In etc.) but especially Timothy West as Bradley Hardacre......

A simple enough question really, who are your favourite comedy characters, either from sitcom or any other comedic medium? It should be interesting to see the range of comedic preferences among NSCers, I think. My list is as follows:

- Edmund Blackadder
- Niles Crane
- Sheldon Cooper
- Sir Humphrey Appleby
My humour to but would have to add Tommy Cooper to the list. Saw him live many moons ago and the first 40 minutes of the show was him on microphone pretending he was locked in his dressing room. Everybody falling about and he wasn,t even on stage. Also great memories of Terence<Spike>Milligan.

A pleasure is the lad himself on the iPlayer. These are from 1956/7 and are still laugh out loud funny.

Same here as shown by my avatar. Everything seemed to go wrong for Brian with his club being burnt down and his inept staff winding him up but he'd always do his best to bounce back. 'Crimetime' was superb ("Don't treat me like one of the bloody Bee Gees!"). The final episode was the best though. "Talk about a kick in the balls!" to the brewery and the 'Stars in your Eyes' night. Comedy gold.

I am sure there are others, but these are the top 4.
