That was the first one that sprang into my mind, it has always fascinated me ever since I was little and holidays to the West always involved the jolly old A272 past it. Does anyone know how the name was derived? Lord B knows about this sort of thing I think.
I don't know the answer to the Slugwash Lane question, but I do know that Ecmod Road is named after the Eastbourne Corporation Motor Omnibus Department, which used to garage its buses there.Ecmod Road in Eastbourne has always amused me. There are also a number of cul-de-sacs in Langney called Close 1, Close 2, Close 3 etc etc which you have to admire for the sheer lack of imagination.
