Wow nice to see some excellent choices. You can't go wrong with Acqua Di Gio, Acqua Di Parma, Eau Savage which are all great versatile frags that can be worn all year round and in any situation. I can also recommend Chanel Allure Sport and Edition Blanche, Issy Miyake' Hermes D'Terre and Yves Saint Laurent M7.

Avoid like the plague, Kouros, original Joop, and Original Fahrenheit.

Original Joop for me, why avoid it? Also like Issy Miyake but my mrs likes me wearing Joop.

Different smells work for different blokes, but Channel Allure Sport is the one for me that gets women - known and randoms - ask me out of the blue what aftershave I'm wearing.

The biggest problem with original Joop is people putting too much on. Its a spicy sillage monster and the its one thing smelling nice but you don't need to 'shout' by leaving a vapour trail and ensuring that everyone within a mile radius can smell you.

My 3 favourites are Original Joop, Original Fahrenheit & original JPG.

What about original FDM? I heard you loved that?! ;)
