520 M Sport Diesel.

Sorry, it does have the "M" badges on it so felt obliged to put it in the title. It has 180 BHP+ and picks it skirt up well for an oil burner.

Has a sports ride so not everyones's cup of tea. The run flat tyres also mean that you feel every bump or disgarded matchstick that you driver over.

Good MPG at around 40 - 42 over all distances.

Yes mine is the 116d 2litre sport. Gets around 38 to 45 MPG but I also have run flats and the ride is not that comfortable ( especially with bucket seats too) BTW replaced 4 run flats....Chandlers wanted 1500 but SETyres did 4 for £750!

Thanks Granny for the SETYRES tip. Use them for the wife's Modus as mine is a company car.

Add another Alfa to the mix:- GT JTD; brilliant for those long runs to Scotland where the inclines and bends of Cumbria and the Borders disappear in a blur (lack of speed cameras helps).

Arrive Edinburgh/Perth/Dundee still with 1/4 tank of diesel left.

Had a 1.8 Alfa 156 before that.

Handling is so good, long journeys are enjoyable, especially hammering through France, to the Med and just a bit further, over the Pyrenees to Barcelona or Sitges.

Much better than financially supporting Ryanair/hire car companies.

As GT JTD is being repaired after a rear end collision caused by an alcoholic playing on a zebra crossing in Aberdeen (not Mark McGhee), driving a insurance courtesy car Mercedes 350 CLS - £50K of luxurious wobbly blancmange in comparison.
