Very surprised yesterday that in the Swiss Cottage in Shoreham that Peroni is £5.15 a pint. Last year I had a pint of mild in the Ship in Southwick and it was £2.85.
What do you pay?

Why on earth you would want to be in the Swiss Cottage is presumably another thing entirely ?

Proving that the North/South divide is a myth when it comes to beer prices, yesterday the Mrs and I went for a quick drink in The Mossbrook Inn as the sprog was at a party nearby. This is in Eckington which isn't exactly posh (to say the least) but the pub is a nice gastro type place.

I ordered a pint of Peroni and a pint of some American pale ale, £9.80.

Peroni was £4.60 so my 4% (very nice actually) ale was £5.20. Unbelievable.

Later, I had a similarly nice pint of pale ale in our local Spoons for £2.29.

Is that Eckington near Pershore ?

Sussex but not by the sea
Local social club £3.20 for a pint of Sussex.
Orange Sq in Haywards Heath is £stupid for just about anything.
For "How much?" effect it has to be any bar in central Paris.

Went to Paris on business with a colleague in the late 90s and had to take a chap from the states with me. He wanted to go up the tower so we walked up on a scorching day. At the top he was almost dead and spotted a bar far below and said "lets get a beer there". We went down, grabbed a table and I asked the waiter for 3 large beers as cold as you can. He came back with 3x litre steins of lager, and put the tray (with ticket) on the table, We demolished the beers and I said "same again" before idly flipping the ticket over and reading it. 300 francs! So 600 francs for 2 drinks each. I didn't have enough cash, so had a word with the waiter who put it through on my company card and gave me a receipt for food. I ate only crisps and biscuits that night.
