my first gig the vibrators, chelsea and the cortinas at the roundhouse 1977/78
the clash victoria park 1978
buzzcocks and penetration chelmsford 1979
alternative tv at a youth club in london 1978
the jam at the marquee 1978
the jam at the rainbow 1979/80

Those were the days for us old gits, I remember me and my school mates going up to Victoria Park and can even remind you of the line up

X Ray Spex
Gang of 4
The Clash (with Jimmy Pursey guesting)
Steel Pulse
Tom Robinson Band

Does anybody remember the Oi bands. I used to know a band called last Resort and remember their gigs , they were well intimidating with loads of skinheaqds siege heiling all over the place, nearly got my head kicked in just for not having a bonehead. Remember similar atmosphere at a Sham 69 gig once. You young uns probably are missing out as todays gigs are mild in comparison!

Underworld at Brixton academy oct 02 was superb, rocked in a big way.

Prodigy at V97 went well and truly off as did Pulp @ V96.

Thin Lizzy - Brighton centre x 3

You lucky bastard, i'd love to have seen Lizzy live.

For my best gig i'd probably plum for Iron Maiden's 'Powerslave' Tour at the old Hammersmith Odeon in 1984. Closely followed by the Dance of Death Dublin gig only last Dec which was extra special as i was actually flown there by Bruce Dickinson:clap2:

Hmm I'd have to give Brian Robertson the nod over Gary Moore mainly because he played on 'Live & Dangerous' and his wah playing is superb.

For Xmas i got a Lizzy DVD recorded in the late 70's at Sydney. Unfortunately the transfer to DVD is a bit ropey and for some strange reason Gary Moore permanently has a phase pedal turned on through out the whole gig.

Aha..!
That is an excellent call Mr Afters..!

Coasters....scenes of much underage shenanagins..
At 15, i used to be able to get in there with a chalky tie and mere smattering of bootpolish on the old top lip to cover up the bum fluff.... desperate times...
