As we're nerding out on away nostalgia ( ) I thought I'd take a recount of the away grounds I've visited to see where I am on the 92.

I'm not sure of the rules regarding teams that have dropped out of League 2 (presumably though the '92' is the current set) and old / new grounds so I thought I'd split it up by in the 92 now / were in but now out and then by current or old ground as I have seen quite a few teams at their old ground but not their new one. My rule for counting a ground is that I have to have seen a game there in one of the recognised professional devisions that make up the 92 at the time the game was played (for example I have been to Torquay and Southend for games in the league pyramid so counted them in my total grounds been to, but not as part of the 'doing the 92').

Still with me? I'm not sure even I am. But this will hopefully explain....

Current EPL grounds - 9 current, 3 old grounds
Current Championship - 15 current, 6 old grounds
Current L1 - 13 current, 3 old grounds
Current L2 (here's the big let down) 5 current, 0 old

Which makes me 54/92 in terms of clubs and 41/92 on grounds in use today.

National League plus N/S - Current 4, old 3.

I'm sure many on here will beat that but anyone else want to work it out and share?

I think you need to come up with an algorithm to give a final, simple, superfan score. Only then will I calculate mine.

Hove actually
Many grounds visited especially during Gillingham / Withdean and early Amex era. I would say at least 10 of those are now plying their trade outside of the top 4 divisions.

EPL - 8 current, plus 3 defunct (Goldstone, Highbury, Griffin Park)
Champ - 11 current, plus 3 defunct (Boothferry park, Highfield Road, Millmoor)
L1 - 9 current, plus 2 defunct (Burnden Park, Eastville)
L2 - 6 current, plus 1 defunct (Belle Vue)
NL - 6 current (ignoring others that were not in '92' level at the time).

Never really thought about it, but in totting them up, I think the only club* (aside from The Albion) whose old AND new grounds I've been to (for a game) is ROTHERHAM.

*ignoring temporary ground shares.

Current Championship - 11 current, 4 old grounds
Current L1 - 12 current, 1 old grounds
Current L2 - 11 current, 2 old

44/92 on grounds in use today. 10 that aren't in use. But I think of those 10 I've been to at least 8 of the new ones.

National League- Current 4, old 3.

It's odd how my numbers are so even across the divisions, when the vast majority of away games I have done were between 1997-2004 ish.

I can answer the OLD and NEW question by stating Cardiff and Leicester, beyond that this feels like a lot of hard work. I didn't even know Doncaster weren't at Belle Vue any more :p

Anyway I've been to see league / cup games at 48 different grounds, representing 44 different clubs, all of whom were in the league at the time. Apart from the ones I've forgotten. But true to my word, I've never gone to Gillingham
