1973 v Chesterfield, Cloughie was still manager and it was 0-0. Was part of St Francis U12s and we had a tour of the ground and sat in the dug outs etc. Didn't go again until the back end of the 75/76 season and then from the start of 76/77 have been an ever present (well missed a couple of home games each season but have travelled to over 70 away grounds, some now no longer in use!). £1000s wasted but would probably do it all again.

1983 FA cup final, 11 years old, the buzz about the town was amazing, everywhere was blue and white and I wanted to be part of it. My brother went to the final and I watched it on TV. After that I got him to take me to games. So I jump on the bandwagon when we were at our best, but I never got off again.

8 years old, 1998 Worthington Cup 1st round Northampton away, we lost 2-1 and Storer scored at our end. It was wet, windy and freezing in August and I never looked back. Had offers to see a few other teams play but as a boy in Leicestershire I was hooked on us, and my life as an exile began, seeing our great Bobby Z score a hattrick at the Withdean against Torquay, watching the Ceefax for 2 hours on THAT day in 1997 and asking who Mayog was because I didn't get the whole own goal thing lmao. Brilliant, I'd change nothing :albion2:

12/02/1972 Walsall home. Lost 1-2, Eddie Spearitt scored for us. Watched in the west stand but my dad soon moved us to the east terrace from then on. Will never forget the sheer joy of climbing up the bank on the east to see the Mecca of the pitch below. The smell of the programmes, pipe/cigar smoke. 75 scum at home, midweek, 33,000 crammed in, smoke bombs, scum in the south stand, dogs going in every 5 minutes, Sammy Morgan scoring twice. Should be on the legends wall for that alone.

Last game of the Division 4 Championship winning season in 1965... Albion 3 Darlington 1... Sold out Goldstone and a lifetime with the Albion had started... Last game of this season will be 50 years of East Terrace, South stand at Withdean and West Stand now... It's been emotional... :ascarf:

moved to Surrey as a young lad from up north in the 70`s,old man said ill take you to a local game ,Brighton tomorrow or Palace next week.......it could have gone horribly wrong but even i knew at that tender age that, that part of London was a shithole....for what its worth the Whitgift Centre toilets in the late 70`s were a disgrace to humanity..........the backward wankers still havnt learnt how to use toilets properly.

Sometime in early 1966. Can't remember the exact game but I'd just moved to Sussex a few months earlier and I went with my new school friends. That will be FIFTY years ago next year! Bugger me!

The incredible thing about that (for modern sensibilities) is that we went on our own. A group of eight and nine years olds getting the train from Lancing to Hove and taking themselves onto the Chicken Run. Imagine the outcry now if the same thing happened in these more hysterical times where children must be chaperoned and monitored 24/7.

As a newcomer Brighton weren't my team though, I still supported Chelsea and Palace. I didn't become a 100% fully-fledged Albion fan until the 71-72 season.

I remember that game in north stand and I believe A Preston player scored 2 own goals Baxter I remember the north stand singing"give it to Baxter" lol

I remember that well! Yes it was Baxter and we were 4-0 up at half time as well iirc. Funny the things that stick in your mind.

I think this was my first season but may have gone for a couple of games in previous seasons but I remember Norman Wiisdom on the pitch sining GOSBTS I came over from Seaford on the bus to help my uncle in his Greengrocers shop in the Lewes road by the viaduct which the two shops had to go for widening the road. Then He would take me to the game and we would go into thechicken run and he would put me on the wall and stand behind keeping an eye on me.so due to him I watched the Albion for coming up Fifty years + thanks Uncle he watched the Ablion before the war,his name is on one of the tiles outside the WSU as welll,as my Mum who loved watching the Albion
