A youthful reserve team entertain Aldershot tonight at Woodside Road, kick-off 7.00pm.

The starting line-up includes seven current members of the youth team, including striker Dan Leach, who will partner Federico Turienzo in attack.

Adam El-Abd and Adam Hinshelwood represent the more experienced members of the side.

Albion: R Martin, El-Abd, Cobbs, Carey, Hinshelwood, May, Taylor, Turienzo, Gatting, Leach, Loft. Subs: Winterton (GK), Fraser, J Martin, Elphick, Cox.

Perhaps McGhee is looking at who could be part of the first team squad next season? Does it mean some fringe players (Dodd, Nicolas, Jarrett etc) will get a chance at Wolves or that they are on the way out?

Hmm, certainly an interesting selection. I think Dodd and Nicolas could do well in Div 1. Dodd is a quality player. My only doubt about Nicolas is that he appears to have not been the same player since his injury problems. I'm sure that Jarrett is on his way out. He just doesn't seem to have the application to go with his undoubted talent. Surprised to see May playing. Hasn't he been released? You would have thought that Fraser or Elphick would play instead of him. Also, where is Gatting playing if Leach is playing with Freddie up front?

Perhaps Fraser is only on the bench as he is a possibilty for Saturday? McGhee mentioned him as a player for next season, and Dean Hammond is suspended so it could be an ideal oppurtunity to blood him.

MM has ruined Nicolas' career.

That is a very sweeping statement and quite an accusation to make..... you have any proof or is this based on the fact that MM hasn't picked him

Why not play the team of the future now, no pressure etc

My team at Wolves would be (keep the 2 loan players as thye showed the most spirit and determination on Monday)

Martin
El-Abd Hinshelwood McShane Lynch
Reid Cox Gatting Hammond
CKR GNW

Bench
Butters, Mayo, Carpenter, Hart, Henderson

Hendo must be one for the future.... Gatting centre midfield? Cox centre midfield ?

Would like to see El Turi play against Stoke even if for 45mins to see whether he shows any sign at all of being able to play English football next season.

Why do people rate Nicolas? All I can remember of his apperances is a sort of poor mans Richard Carpenter. Certain poeple seem to big up our players based solely on the fact that they're not in the team,

You are correct Gatting is a striker, but Cox can play there.

Im sure Taylor and Leach have been released as well as May. What is the point of playing them if they are not going to be at the club next season?

My guess is the former.

It will be very interesting to see who is played against Wolves. It looks like the fringe players, young and old may get a chance. Seems an ideal opportunity to give the fringe players one last chance and blood some youngsters.

Only thing I can think of is that we are doing them a favour by putting them in the shop window to let other clubs have a look at them. Didn't some of the players we released go on trial at Bournemouth?

They will be trying to set the youngsters up with a new club.

Yep, it's good they look after them like that rather than just telling them to piss off.
